Paths to unmanaged dependent dlls

Is there any way one can instruct asp.net to load unmanaged dlls from a
path other than one included in PATH or in System32? I have a
mixed-mode C++ assembly which references a bunch of other native dlls.
Right now the only way I can get asp.net to (indirectly) load them is
by adding their location to my system PATH variable. Is there any
cleaner way?

Thanks,
Ben

I have a application (.exe) and one assembly (.dll). When the two files are in de same folder, it works fine. But I want to create a subfolder called for example "DLLs". When I move the assembly to the DLLs folder, the exe doesn't work anymore. So I create a key in de "App Paths" section of the registry (HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\App Paths) to tell the application to look into the DLLs folder. But that...

One thing that can make porting C code from one platform to another miserable is #include. In particular, the need to either place the path to an included file within the #include statement or to very carefully define the order in which paths are searched with command line options on the compiler. Both can cause problems, especially when dealing with complex software distributions. It occurs ot me that by extending the C include...

Hello, My question is how to use C# to call the existing libraries containing unmanaged C++ classes directly, but not use C# or managed C++ wrappers unmanaged C++ classes? Does anyone know how to do that? Thanks. Tsung-Yu

I have setup Console redirection within my Console app (via Console.SetOut and Console.SetErrror) to route console WriteLine calls to a logfile. This works just fine with one exception... I use PInvoke to call into several unmanaged DLLs which write diagnostic information out to stdout (and possibly stderr). When I run in a "standalone" mode with no redirection, these DLLs do generate output to the console window. But I want to run in...

Our application environment consists of three basic layers: 1. Third-party unmanaged DLLs that were written before the CLR was invented and maintain a significant amount of information (including memory management and connection pooling constructs) as static variables which were intended to scoped to the process. 2. Managed C++ assemblies (.NET 1.1) that wrap the unmanaged DLLs as nice neat classes with managed interfaces.

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it. First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
