looking for WAN source control system

What source control systems are people using for distributed (WAN) dev teams
?

I've seen quite a few people say that VSS is buggy and gets corrupted
easily.. is that true still ?

Thanks
Adrian

yes for VSS (may be better with next version and webservice support). its
hard to trust a product whose readme recommends against using its features
(branching).

the most popular source control tool is probably cvs see
(http://sourceforge.net)

Thanks Bruce, I'll take more of a look at CVS, but from initial glance, you
get what you pay for in terms of functinoality.

I'd like to call my ancestor Validation Function every time any control on a Win Form generates a Validating or Validated event. I'm using VB. I've extended Textbox, for instance, to have its events do this for me, but my extended textbox doesn't get created by those wonderful form setup wizards. So, 1) Is there a way I can pick up these...

Does anyone out there have a simple source control tool that I can use on my PC here at work? My employer does not want to foot the bill for that, saying I can always make a backup in another folder, but I always forget. CVS is good, but it takes a lot of work to get it set up. What would be perfect would be an add-on for Visual Studio...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. ...
