Assuming that IIS is not restared, and that the web server is not restarted,
should the "session_end" event in the global file ALWAYS fire or will there
be times when it will not fire?
protected void Session_End(Object sender, EventArgs e)
{
}

I realized that when SqlServer mode is used for session management
Session_End event is not fired in global.asax.
What can I do if I want to do something when a user's session end?
Thanks

When SQL Server 2003 is *not* configured in IIS5 isolation mode, is it true
that the Session_End event can not be depended on? If so, what is a good way
to clean up unmanaged resources that were created in abandoned user sessions?

Dear all,
Is there any way to prevent the ASP.NET worker process from recycling
the worker process when a thread is being executed on the foreground
(IsBackground=false).
I'd also like to know if there a way for a foreground thread to detect
if the worker process is being recycled?
It seems that when a worker process recycles (under IIS 5.0) a thread

All the documentation and discussion I have read indicate that the
Session_End is not supposed to fire unless you are in "inProc" Session state
mode, and then only on Session Timeout or at Session Abandon. I need the
event to fire at Session timeout in order to capture and store the Datetime
this occurs. However in the application I am writing, I have been unable
discern any indication that the event is firing. I have used break...

I can't seem to get the session_end event to work?
I've tried to update databases in it and response.redirect to someplace
else.
Nothing works.
I load page and leave it for 60 minutes and I know that the session id
expired.
I used session.abandon and it didn't fire the session_end.
How can I test this? What is a good way to test if it's working?

Hye guys,
I am using VS2005 with C# as a backend. The problem is that Session_End is not getting fired in normal run. While in Debug after the session time out it does work well. I writing to a file for testing when session end event fires. The code is working fine with debug mode. But under normal run the session does get time out but the event never fires...when i check the session variable it does get null. But the respective code is not...

I would like to keep track of users when they are 'on'. On Session_Start I
can write a DB record about them, but there does not seem to be session
variable information during the Session_end event which I could use to
update the record that they are logged out. This would also be nice to limit
multiple logins.
Is there a preferred way to track users login / logout /session time and
multiple logins ?
TIA

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
