I've tried everything; and I can't seem to get past this VERY
(seemingly) simply problem.
I want to work with an array variable within a function(s).
I can't get it to work; if I:
1) global $arr=array(); (syntax err)
2) global $arr; in "main", the var isn't global
3) global $arr; in function, the array is cleared each time

Hi,
I'm using an include file to store the connection string to a database.
Whenever I try to reference that string to open a connection in the page
that includes the file I get the error 'empy connection string' . When I
write the string to the page using response.write(connectionstring) it shows
up fine. Is the something else that I need to do?
Thanks

I have several subroutines (all inline code) that wind up using the same
database connection object variable. I have been declaring a new variable in
every sub. I just now came to a point where I want to call one sub that will
utilize a database connection from within another sub that is already
utilizing a database connection.
1) Can I just declare this database connection once outside of all
subroutines to make it global (the way I...

I am using VS2003 and connecting to MS Access database.
When using a connection pooling (every time I open the OLEDBCONNECTION I use
the exact matching connection string),
1. how can I know how many connection has been used ?
2. If the maximum pool size has been reached, what happens when I call the
method Open to open the connection ? Will I get an error ? MSDN says the
request is queued, but will I get an error in the open method ?

In the Windows application (using VB.NET 2005) I use connection pooling like
the following:
In the main form load I open a connection using a connection string that I
stored in a global variable g_sConnectionString and leave this connection
open and not close it until it exits the application.
Then on each thread/each subsequent sub that needs the connection I create a
local OleDBConnection variable, open the connection using the exact...

Hi all,
I've developed a mobile application for windows mobile 5.0 that has been in use for a while (1 year and a couple of months). It was developed in visual studios 2005 with a back-end sql server mobile ce database. Until recently I was synching everything thru a com port serial cable. The devices would connect to the computer thru activesync and are able to acquire an internet connection. The sync for the program occurs thru a website...

Problem:
My project was initially created without putting passwords in the connection string. When I added the password in the connection string, it disappears when performing a database fill. I have stepped through the code in debug and the connection string is correct up til the Fill command. Once the fill executes, the password disappears from the connection string. This particular Fill is performed to check that the user is valid for this...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
