I have seen messages posted about this before, and there is a clear
reference to it in the manual, but I have been unable to find a
solution.
I'm on Slackware 9.1, kernel 2.6.0-test11, using Python 2.3.1 and
GCC 3.2.3 (both installed by default with Slackware) and SWIG 1.3.19,
compiled from source code.
I messed around a little on my own and couldn't get things to work
right,
so I copied the examples from the book, nearly verbatim but...

I'm trying to create a python module which can be used by a python
interpreter embedded inside a fortran program I have. To do this, I
first created python wrappers for all the functions in my fortran
program using f2py. I then start an embedded python interpreter in c
code which I link against the fortran program. I invoke the fortran
program with a filename containing python code. This file is passed
to the c code which passes it on...

Hello,
I couldn't find a solution to the following problem (tried
google and dejanews), maybe I'm using the wrong keywords?
Is there a way to open a file (a linux fifo pipe actually) in
nonblocking mode in c++? I did something ugly like
--- c/c++ mixture ---
mkfifo( "testpipe", 777);

Just wondering if anyone has hit the following issue and how you might
have sorted it out.
I am using the command:
DoCmd.TransferText acExportMerge, , stDataSource, stFileName, True
after setting stDataSource and stFileName to the desired values. Most
of the time it works, but occasionally, typically as code changes are
being made to the module, the following message appears:

the subject is a bit misleading. this is my situation:
right now i have my "Gig" database (im a musician) in FMPro. i want
this online so heres what i do now:
1/ i manually run a simple script in FMPro that exports the database to
a file named, say, "gig_export.txt".
2/ i run a small c++ app that i wrote. it automatically imports the
"gig_export.txt" file, parses it and writes an interactive calendar in

I tried to use HTML2FPDF to generate dynamic local files and save the
generated files on the server. I don't know why it gives me the

/export/home/.../pdfCov/fpdf.php on line 1698

I cut and paste the following part of the code into a test.php file and

Hello All,
I've been browsing and reading all articles I could find on technet
,msdn and other knowledgeable sources to understand the issue I'm
dealing with.
However, I did not find so far how to fix that.
Investigations are still under progress and I hope you'll be able to
give hints or feedback that will drive me to the solution.
The applications I'm working on until the next release that will soon

Sorry about the subject, I can't think of a better one.
I recently wrote some PHP classes that I think might be of interest to
this group. Since I have been reaping the benefits of reading news
groups for years, I figure it's time for me to contribute a little bit
back, maybe some people out there will find this useful.
* Introduction
This is a "how-to" style article, showing by example how to dynamically

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
