I'm fairly new to PHP, but a long time Perl coder.
This is probably answered somewhere, but I haven't been able to find
it. The "strength" behind Perl is in its modules; are there modules
available like that for PHP?
TIA,
Mike

Hi people
I've just joined the Python list and although I'm sure my question must be
asked fairly frequently, I have been unable to find an answer after two days
of searching. For the record, my total Python experience is also two days :)
(I come from a C++ background though, so I have good programming knowledge
in general).
My question is thus: how do I reference a parent module and its children?

We had some legacy applications that used import to get parts of documents in.
When run separately these worked fine, but failed when run as a single process
because they both imported ch1 (after jumping to their home dirs and placing
these on the path). Clearly the first to run used up ch1.
I have a simple test script below. It seems I cannot just restore the original
sys.modules and leave the modules to die, but actually need to del the...

I am considering writing some Linux based client applications for amateur
radio in python as a learning exercise however, I have not been able to
find ax.25 python modules. Can anyone point me to work that has already
been done in this area? The only option I have found so far is to use SWIG
and build my own wrappers for the ax.25 modules, but that seems beyond my
current level of expertise :-)
I have had success with python server...

Hello,
I’m in the process of reading "Inside Microsft .NET IL Assembler" by Serge
Lidin to gain a better understanding of my .NET code at a lower (IL) level.
There is one concept that I am having trouble grasping, however: Assemblies
versus modules and how they relate to one another. From what I can tell,
assemblies contain one or multiple modules, but I’m not sure of this. I know
that your .NET compiled code can end up in a DLL or...

Hello, I have a question.
I have a big project, and all the modules are over 100, some of dll was
referenced by most of the modules (dll, exe)
When one EXE call a DLL, if some functions in the DLL was modified, for
example: fix some bugs, usually all the modules will be recompiled, but
because we have too much modules, if we do the build, all of the modules need
to be update to the customs to maintenance the version.
So I want to know if...

Installing Merge Modules from C# Windows Form Application (not using a setup
and deployment project)
Hi,
Currently, we have an InstallShield project that creates a setup.exe that
only installs 20 or so merge modules. It does nothing else. We then have
our own custom, C# Windows Form application that installs our software
applications. It does this by copying files, creating registry keys, etc.

Hi
I have a question regarding the functionality of merge modules. Since this
relates to my previous queries, I'll just give you a brief background on the
topic. I had to make an installer for an application which was to share dlls
with another application and these dlls were not self-registering. Someone on
the forum suggested a few methods for the Visual studio installer, but since
I had been using another software, a certain...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

In this session, we are pleased to welcome a new presenter, Adolph Dupré who will be discussing some powerful techniques for using class modules.
He will explain when you may want to use classes instead of User Defined Types (UDT). For example, to manage the data in unbound forms.
Adolph will...
