I'm having the problem with this drop down list on postback. For some
reason both the ListItems get selected when I change the selected item.
Using the code below I'm building the drop down list in the overriden
CreateChildControls method and setting the selected item. Then when I
change the item in the drop down list the list is rebuilt from
viewstate, but the initial item is still selected causing the error
below.

In DataGrid1_UpdateCommand, the lin
DropDownList ddlTest = (DropDownList) e.Item.FindControl("DdlTest")
enables me to work with ddlTest - with, for example, ddlTest.SelectedValu
However, in DataGrid1_EditCommand, ddlTest.SelectedValue returns "Object reference not set to an instance of an object.

Hi,
I am using FindByText method of dropdownlist to change the selected item in a dropdownlist like this:
DropDownList1.Items("mySelectedText").Selected = True
It doesn't seem to be doing the trick. I have this piece of code in OnSelectedIndexChanged event of the dropdownlist.
Can anyone tell me why it's not setting the selected item?

Hi guys
Still having a problem with this dropdownlist.
Basically, I've got 4. The first 2 work fine, then my code crashes on the
3rd.
ddlEndTimeHour.Items.FindByValue(endTime).Selected = true;
Where endTime is a string containing "15".

Hi,
I have a page with several Textboxes and several DropDownList. When I click
on a 'save' button, it creates a record in a database.
The page works fine under Internet Explorer.
It does not work under FireFox. The dropdownlist are always selecting the
zero index value. If I debug and I stop the program in the page_load, the
dropdownlist are already set to zero index.

hi,
after binding the dropdownlist to a datasource, ive experience this error
"Cannot have multiple items selected in a dropdownlist" after using the code:
dropdownlist.items.findbyvalue("value").selected = true
I didnt specify any selected item in the dropdownlist during binding to the
datasource. I use dropdownlist.clearselection() but still error occurs.
I need information on this. Thanks.
