Edit a web site when having more than one locally

Hello!

I have a WinServer 2003 with IIS and VS.Net 2005 beta.
I have two web sites responding at port 80.
The first one without a host header and the second with a host header.

Now I want to edit my second web site from VS.Net 2005. Everything seems to
work, but when running my project this starts my first web site instead.
I think this is correct cause in Solution Expolrer the name of the project
is http://localhost/, so I wonder if there are any way to change this so it
runs the correct site from VS when pressing F5. I have no other problem with
my project. It does build successfully, and is accessible from Internet.

If you use host headers you should use them for all web sites....don't leave
one blank.

single machine - W2Kserver , IIS5 , VS.NET 2003 I spent some time struggling with what looked like the dreaded asp.net debugging configuration problem but none of the solutions for this did any good. Outside of the ide I am able to browse to an existing web app with no problem and I can load the web app project in the visual studio ide and run it 'without debugging' . But I am unable to run it with debugging within the ide - "Error...

Hi all As I'm sure is common knowledge the version of IIS included in XP Pro is limited in that you can only create 1 website in the IIS snap in. As an ASP.net developer this is a pain in the arse because I can't figure out how to stop having this fact cock up my relative urls. When I create a virtual directory - presumably what you're supposed to do when you're only allowed one site my relative URL's refer to the root of the

Hello, Can anyone give some tips to efficiently update a remote project ? I prefer to keep my projects locally, compile as release and then copy everything it to the remote server. What is bugging me is that when I have to change one line of code (locally, to have an identical copy), I have to recompile it and upload the whole thing again to the webserver. Next I tried opening the remote solution file to change and compile on the

I have a win2003 server workstation with multiple webs, each web has it's own ip address. In VS2005, if I select to open an existing web site, select Local IIS, the dialog correctly displays a list of all of my webs, however if I attempt to open a site under and web other than localhost I receive the message: "Unable to open the Web 'http://localhost/anywebappname'. The Web 'http://localhost/anywebappname' does not exist" Obviously...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it. First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
