I am currently weighing up two options.
I have a data i need available for my website.
However, this data is only available via a web service and too slow to
retrieve on a user request basis.
So i plan once a day load to download this data. Either into the Cache, or a
local database i'll set up.

I have a DataSet where two tables have a relation (the
parent / child relationship is also successfully added to
the DataSet Relations collection). I am looking for a
way to programmatically construct something analogous to
a database view where the record (or row) would show
table1.Field1, table1.field2, table2.Field2, etc.
I tried using a DataView object, but this appears to
allow only filtering and sorting.

I have an ordering form that use two combo boxes to filter down the
records of a Products table. This worked fine with the after_Update of
the first filtering the records and creating the rowsource of the
second combo. The second combo's control source is the Product ID field
(foriegn key) on the Orders table.
Everything worked well until I decided to enhance the form by changing
the second combo to an option group. Now I don't know...

I have a split front end/back end system. However I create a number of
local tables to carry out certain operations. There is a tendency for
the front end to bloat so I have set 'compact on close'
I think that I have read in some threads (althoug I cannot find them
now) that others place such tables in a local, linked database. I
could do this but I am interested to know what would be the advantages.
And disadvantages, if any.

Hi,
I'm faced with a classic problem of how to update a large number of
records from a web page. I;m trying to build an interface that will
display recordset in the order of 3000 rows and allow the user to edit and
update records from that interface. I have cached some static lists in
the page but the main recordset should reflect updated data so it can't
be cached. I also compute some control functions over the whole data.

On my Main form I have a Command Button that opens a Subform in order
to create a new Subform record.
At this point I want the subform to show only the new record being
created.
Not all the records the subform's table has.
I cannot put the subform as Data Entry because I cannot print the main
form & subform together if the subform is "data entry". (comes up
