I would like to start using EventLogTraceListener, and am running into
a couple of significant limitations:
1) I have found that there is no way to write EventLog entries with
different EventLogEntryTypes. It seems that EventLogTraceListener is
only capable of writing entries with EventLogEventType.Information,
even for Trace.Fail. Is this assessment correct?
2) EventLogTraceListener.Flush (and the idea of buffering writes) is
not...

Hi,
has anybody thought of / already used graphviz to convert the output of
trace.py into a graph? I looked at PyUMLGraph, but 1. PyUMLGraph does
not successfully create a dot file, and 2. I don't really want a UML
representation but a compact representation of program execution.
Maybe there is some other tool that I am not aware of which can create
this kind of trace. I use eclipse with pydev plugin on MacOS 10.3.9

The trace class seems to me to be very usefull however there are a few
features of it that have to confused.
I am using visual studio 2003.
the IDE will not let me write
trace.assert(..) or trace.writeLine(..) or trace.writeif(..)

I'm experiencing a problem where, for seemingly no reason, trace output
stops being logged (and appearing on my pages.)
trace.enabled suddenly just turns to false.
Any idea why this happens? It actually is happening on 2 machines I work on.

I have coded a Trace.Write in the codebehind of a Control.
This message does not appear when I navigate to trace.axd.
If I place the Trace.Write in the codebehind of the WebForm which hosts
the control, the message appears in trace.axd.
Is it possible to use the Trace.Write method within a Control?

I am writing one particular web app in ASP.NET 2.0 in debug mode.
Even when I step through the code, the IDE skips over every occurrence
of System.Diagnostics.Trace.WriteLine(), but honors
System.Diagnostics.Debug.WriteLine().
I have other web app's that run fine, Trace.WriteLine() actually
writes to the output window and my TraceListener catches it.
What can I configure / set so that this web app honors

I have a "Save Changes" button on the form. I'm binding its IsEnabled
property to a property of the object that I'm dealing with. When I connect
