Is it possible to design interfaces that classes must implement in
Python? If it's not, is this functionality planned at all for the future?
Thanks,

I know that Office XP provides a PIA (Primary Interoperabiltiy
Assembly) so that C# and VB.NET Applications can call into the Office
COM based interfaces.
But programming in C# is a real pain, because the all optional
parameters have to be filled in, resulting in enormous and meaningless
parameters lists ( The PIA/ COM interfaces do not support proper
method overloading) VB.NET is better. When Automating Office
Applications might as...

I want to know why C# doesnt support multiple inheritance? But why we can
inherit multiple interfaces instead? I know this is the rule, but I dont
understand why. Can anyone give me some concrete examples?

Hi
Anybody got an impression whether .NET 2.0 supports USB ports?
I know that the Serial (COM) and parallel ports (LPT1) are included, but how is the story on USB ports?

It seems that all of the interfaces, such as IDataObject etc. from basic OLE
are no longer supported in .NET, although they are implemented
(differently). I have an OLE object type and am having to make lots of
detours and compromises (and, to be frank, hacks) to get my .NET code to
work with it. For example, because I can't get an IDataObject interface
from my basic OLE object (even though it implements IDataObject), I'm having
to write...

In 2004 (approximately) MS Tech support explained that while there was
limited support for native mode Active X controls in a few cases (like IE),
ActiveX controls should be all native code (especially for MS Office).
Has this change with VS2005? Does MSOffice Support ActiveX controls written
in J#, C# and Javascript.net?
Thanks,
Siegfried

Company has switched to MS Team Foundation Server from VSS. Need a
programmers text editor that interfaces with TFS or SCC providers to
visually provide checkin/out status on project files. So far, in all of
the editors I have used, some support SCC interfaces, but do not show
the file status.
The current alternative is to load Visual Studio (or the TFS client
which is simply a subset of VS), simply to manage checkins. Using
command...

When using createEvent, an eventType parameter must be provided as an
argument. This can be one of those specified in DOM 2 or 3 Events, or
it might be a proprietary eventType.
My problem is testing for support of particular eventTypes - the DOM 2
Events Interface DocumentEvent says that if the eventType is not
supported, it throws a DOM exception. This makes testing rather
tough - if you try something like:
if (document &&...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

In this session, we are pleased to welcome a new presenter, Adolph Dupré who will be discussing some powerful techniques for using class modules.
He will explain when you may want to use classes instead of User Defined Types (UDT). For example, to manage the data in unbound forms.
Adolph will...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
