Hi all,
I have a silly question. Is there are simple way to check if the computer
is connected to the Internet? It seems this should be a pretty
straight-forward thing to do, but as I am totally unfamiliar with sockets
and such, I ask for your help before getting my hands dirty.

Hi,
I just wrote a windows service application to call a function of another
object periodically. I used System.Server.Timer and I found that it works
fine within the first 2 hours but the onTimer event wouldn't be raised again
after few hours. I checked the msdn and Microsoft claims that it is a bug in
their .net framework as follows:

Hi,
I need to build an application which will test students for a given
amount of time. Problem is that there is no timer control in asp.net,
because timer should be on the client side.
Everything works in the app, except that I don't know how to expire the
page when time is up.
Any pointers?

Hello
I'm testing the performance of the System.Timers.Timer class.
I created a small program that create 100 User objects.
Each USer object create a MyTimer object.
The constructor of the User class contains a name and a time to wait
for the timer.
Calling start on the User objet initiate the MyTimer to callback in 1
second.

I am writing unit tests in VS2005 and am having the following problem:
I am trying to test a timeout property of one of my methods. This
timeout exhibits itself in an exceptioin - i.e. I am sending a command
to a hardware device, and if it does not answer in the timeout defined
(i.e. in 2 sec), my software fires an exception.

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
