Tell if horizontal scoll bars are visible / active on a div layer.

Hello all.
Is there a way to know if my datagrid is wider than my div layer? This
is hard since the width on datagrid = 100% so it will not scroll,
leaving the scrolling to the div layer. The problem is when I set the
height of the div layer so it will not scroll vertically (based on the
height of the datagrid) if it scrolls horizontally I would need to add
some height to the div so I can see the pager in full. Was that
confusing? :)
I need a way to make know if the width of the datagrid will push the
width of the div and make it scroll. I've tried almost everything :)
I would love to hear of a simple way to get the DG width or the
property of the scroll bar (if it exists)
Thanks for any ideas!
Jeff

I have been playing around with several different versions for a horizontal menu, but I haven't been able to build a horizontal navigation based on the vertical one featured on www.alistapart.com in the article "taming lists". However I have managed to build a horizontal navigation but it has a slight hitch in Mozilla and Opera, but it's fine in Internet Explorer. It is a strange occurrance of a 4 - 5 Pixel bar in grey (which is the...

Hi When I zoom into my site (http://www.petermount.au.com) with Opera 7.54 the horizontal scrollbar doesn't show when the site image is bigger than my screen. Yet the horizontal scrollbar shows in print preview and when I turn css off in Opera. Could it be a problem with my css? The code is: html{ padding-top: 0; padding-bottom: 0;

I tried to wrap the table around a <div> tag but its doesn't work out as the scroll bar appear close to the scroll bar...

I've got a grid inside a div so that it's got scroll bars around it. What I want to do is have the header row fixed at the top, so that the vertical scroll bars scroll just the data rows of the grid while the horizontal scroll bar scrolls both the data and the header row. The only way I can think of doing it is putting the data portion as a seperate grid in a div and the header in a seperate div. I would force the header div not to have...

Hi I'm using an iFrame to enclose another document. The iFrame width is sufficient to hold the enclosed document. When the enclosed document has more data and exceeds the height set for iFrame, both the scroll bars , horizontal and vertical appear. I want to avoid the horizontal scroll bar. If I set the scrolling property to "no", then both the scroll bars don't appear. I tried placing the iFrame tag inside div and setting the scrolling...

Consider a RichTextBox which is say 200 pixels wide and you do: richTextBox.WordWrap = false; richTextBox.Rtf = <lots of text> Assume the width of the rendered text is wider than 200 pixels so horizontal scroll bars appear. How do you determine the actual size of the text area? (so that you can determine the size richTextBox must be to NOT show the scroll bars)

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
