Using asp.net, c#, mysql or SQL Server. I have a image uploading and
wanted it to be "secure." Each user has their own section to login and
upload images. Should I store the images in a database or on the drive
as files? Not sure how to make it secure any other way but put in the
database, but wanted to know if that would make it extremely slow when
downloading the images on the webpage showing them. Thanks for any
advice. 1 1826
Putting images in your database is a reasonable solution in many scenarios.
Here are all the details: http://SteveOrr.net/articles/EasyUploads.aspx

I am currently working on a PHP based website that needs to be able to draw
from Oracle, MS SQL Server, MySQL and given time and demand other RDBMS. I
took a lot of time and care creating a flexible and solid wrapper and am
deep into coding. The only problem is a noticed VARCHAR fields being drawn
from SQL Server 2000 are being truncated to 255 characters.
I searched around php.net and found the following :

Hi All!
I'm developing a website for a software company. They want to publish news,
tip/tricks and other articles on company's news section.
I would like to get advice on
- how to name the individual article files? (There will be 1000s of them)
- how to let the user query it? (i.e. news/index.asp?articleID=234544 or
what?)

Hello all!
I am amazed how many posts I have read to store an image in SQL, and just as
many against it. So I learned how to store an image in a SQL db and retrieve
the image. A little tricky, but not too bad. But then I thought I wanted to
try the other way, by putting the file location in SQL and storing the actual
image in another directory.
I plan to have many images on my web application, up to as many as 5000.
Not to mention the...

I'm just recently come to work for an auto brokerage firm. My
position involves performing mysterious rites, rituals and magick in
order to get information out of their access database. This is due to
the fact that the "designer" they hired had an unfortunate ability to
tink around with a program far beyond her reach. She had no concept
of any of the principles of database design, so what i'm left with is
a junkpile. The only reason I...

Hi all
This is not strictly a Python question, but as the system to which
relates is written in Python, hopefully it is not too off-topic.
I have an accounting/business application, written in client/server
mode. The server makes a connection to a database, and then runs a
continuous loop waiting for client connections, establishes a session
with the client, and responds to messages received from the client
until the client closes the...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
