Hi --
I'm very, very new to ASP.Net, and I've been trying for several days to
figure out how to update a datagrid AND refresh it on the client side so
that the page doesn't refresh. I've torn my code apart over and over each
time I tried what I thought would be the code that would solve my problem.
Maybe I'm going down the completely wrong path here. Essentially,
here is an explanation of my ASP.NET webform application and what I
want...

I have a page which has an IFrame on it. The src of the
IFrame is a page with a datagrid on it. The Datagrid has
bound template columns. The columns of the datagrid pass
the bound data value of each cell within it to my code
behind file which generates the HTML to display the data
in a formatted text box, some of which is editable, some
of which is not. The idea here is that the user can look
at a page with a scrolling 'window'. Move...

I'm new to ASP.NET and I'm not use to the way things are handled with
this technology. I've been told that when I have a control, I should
only bind the data to it once, and not on each post back (basically
have the data binding done in the If NOT IsPostBack Then statement).
How come? How does this information get preserved?
Which raises another question. Becuase I want to get away from the
spaghetti code approach, I would like to create...

I'm not sure if i'm heading in the right direction so would appreciate
any comments on what I'm trying to do.
Basically I have a DataGrid on a page which has columns whose width's I
set in the DataGrid's ItemCreated event and which need to be remembered
after a postback.
I bind to the DataGrid in the Page_Load event when PostBack is false.
The DataGrid displays the data horizontally so I set the RepeatColumns

I have a DataGrid that gets filled based on a filter which is defined by
the values that the user selects on several controls. When the page
postbacks after changing the selection on the filter controls, the DataGrid
refreshes itslef. Now, I also need to refresh the DataGrid if I detect
that something "external" has changed (keeping the filter that the user is
using).
For this, I have created a page that partially refreshes itslef in...

Hi,
I have a datagrid with a radiobutton template column, with AutoPostBack set
to TRUE. When the user clicks on a radiobutton the application will
PostBack, and in the PostBack there will be certain logic performed, and the
dataview will be re-binded to the datagrid. There turns out to be about 2-5
seconds delay between the time the user clicks the radiobutton and when the
page is completely re-loaded. During this time the user may try...

Ok, here is my problem.
I have an aspx page that displays a databound datagrid and in one of
the datagrid column headers I have an image that when clicked opens up
a modal web dialog (another aspx page).
>From this dialog I want the users to be able to select a filter item
from a databound combobox and click on the apply button on the web
dialog that will then disappear and the filtered data will be displayed
on my datagrid.

Recently I realized the Wachovia bank switched to asp.net pages. I like very
much the way they did it and I would like to know how they managed to do the
postbacks and the blinking between postbacks is almost unnoticeable!
I my sites even when browsing in the local network and the pages are very
very small I still can clearly see the blinking between pages postbacks (a
white page in the middle)

Hi,
i'm not sure to understand the difference between refreshing the pagina by
clicking on 'refresh' in the browser and a postback.
What i think it is:
Suppose a page with a form containing a textbox and a dropdowlist: and a
button to start something n code-behind:
a refresh doesn't send any value back to the server but with a postback, the
values are sent?
But then, which role does Viewstate play in the postback proces?

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
