How to synchronize Label1.text between Client Script & Code Behind?

Hi all,

How to synchronize Label1.text between:
document.getEle mentById("Label 1").innerTex t (at Client Script) & Label1.text
(Code Behind).

I mean, I have assign new value to Label1 in Client Script, i.e.:

document.getEle mentById("Label 1").innerTex t = "ABC"

How to get "ABC" value from Code Behind, i.e. I want to add new value to my
database:

clsTable myTable = new clsTable();
myTable.InsertA rticle(Label1.T ext); // Not Working...

How to solve this problem?

Thx,
Julius F

Hi Julius,

You have to pass the new value from client to server separately, the Label
element won't do it for you. There is a number of ways for doing this, most
common one is via a hidden <input> element.

I have an ASP page split up with three different frames. One of the frames takes long time to load (due to long running function) and the first two are loaded before the most important one - loaded about 5 seconds later. Is there a way to synchronize the output so that the other frames wait for the last one to load?

In ASP.NET 1.0 all client ID's of controls run at server were the same as the rendered ones on the client. In ASP.NET 2.0 the client id of server control is different on server than on the client. Can I set the client ID of server control or I can only read it? If not, the client script should be written in code behind file and that is not so attractive.

Is there anything builtin to ASP.net that allows you to tie a text box to a button so when you press enter in the text box it emulates clicking a near by button. I've coded up some client side javascript that does this, but it fails when their is a validator monitoring the text box (in firefox, but that's 10% of my visitors).

Hi, I am using these: ASP.Net 2.0, VB.Net, Visual Studio 2005, SQL Server 2005 In a asp.net page, I have two multiview controls each has 2 views & its corresponding 2 menu items named Metric & Imperial. Individually both works fine. But when I click "Metric", the other "Metric" should also be switched on and vice-versa for Imperial. How to achieve that? The catch here is, one of the multiview control is inside a show/hide div with...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it. First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
