Asp.net debugging denied on w2003 server

After several months of successful development in Visual Studio .NET on our
Windows 2003 Small Business Server, I now receve a message:

"Error while trying to run project: Unable to start debugging on the web
server. You do not have privileges to debug the web server process."

I can run from the IDE without debugging, but can't attach to the w3wp.exe
process. This also gives access denied.

I have read many messages where developers have this problem while remote
debugging but in my case, I'm on the server. I have tried many of the
suggestions including: DCOM changes, making sure I'm in the "Debugging Users"
group, I tried changing the App Pool to run as other users - no luck. Any
assistance would be appreciated.

You "MUST BE ADMIN" or set the SE_DEBUG privilege for the current user to
debug asp.net.

Daniel, Thanks for the prompt reply. I have tried debugging as
"Administra tor" with no success. I have also added the users to the
"Debugger Users" group.

I'm getting close to trying a reinstall of Visual Studio. - Any thoughts?

installed the RemoteDebugger, tried as admin of the domain in group
"debugger users" and "wpg..." and still no success? Hmm, sorry

I never reesolved this issue. Finally, rebuilt the server and re-installed
everything. Has worked since. I think it might have been caused by spyware
or adware.

Good luck...

I've been through everything with this error and cannot get the debugger to work remotely. The only thing I can trace it down to is that RPC is not communicating between servers. So after many, many hours of searching I found the RPCPing utilitty. We have 8 servers, 2 Exchange 2003 servers. RPCPing pings nothing from anywhere on all protocols. I've tried on all severs in all directions and from several different workstations. I...

Hi everybody, My problem seems a bit clichè but I could not work around. Well I read lots of MSDN papers and discussions, but my problem is a bit different from them. When I tried to run the project in debug mode (by hitting F5) it gives an error message "Error while trying to run project: Unable to start debugging on the web server.

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
