I just got myself a new Treo 650 and was looking around for Python for
Palm projects. The only ones I find are Pippy
http://pippy.sourceforge.net/
and Python to Palm Pilot Port
http://www.isr.uci.edu/projects/sensos/python/
both of which look to be rather stale. They're both based on the 1.5

This seems to be another ploy by Microsoft to push the competition
out. Why in the world would MS pick a file extension of .PDB for
their DotNet project files, when Palm has been using this file
extension for years! As a consequence to "us" consumers, who also use
Palm OS devices, we now have to redefine our file extension of PDB to
be Palm Database files, once we've installed VSDotNet, in order to be
able to click and install Palm .PDB...

I know this topic comes up every so often - so I thought I would annoy
everyone and ask again.....
I am looking for a way to write PHP apps on a Palm based computer.
Why? Because I like PHP, and the whole Palm OS paradigm is very
web-server like (from a user point of view).
If the you envionsion a plam screen as a web browser and the Palm DB as
either a database or file system, you could easily and quickly build
PHP apps for palms.

Hello,
Currently I used Biomobility's DataOnTheRun for the Pocket PC. It's a
little slow, but it does exactly what I need -- and it does it well.
Unfortunately, now I need to have the same thing for the Palm OS and,
unfortunately, DataOnTheRun is Pocket PC only.
Can anyone please point me to reviews of such software? There seem to
be dozens of these kinds of tools, but no where to go to research the
differences.

Palm C people,
I have had a Palm device foist upon me, so I wrote a nice game for it,
but I don't know what newsgroup to use to find out info about straight C
programming on the Palm. There seem to be a plethora of Palm newsgroups,
but most about how to get Calendar to work. Can any C people who program
for the Palm (and presumably check in here) let me know the best place
to find out about Palm issues.
A sample of my current...

I have completed recoding my CRM app into Python so that it will run on
Win32, ARM Linux, and ARM Windows Mobile platforms. Now I am looking to
try to roll it into the Palm OS platform. Since Pippy is based on an
older version of Python than I am using for my other implementations I
was thinking about using Jython. Would this be a viable option for the
Palm OS platform? I installed IBM Websphere Everywhere Micro
Environment on a test Palm...

I am writing a program that uses the Palm handheld as a sort of input
device. However, the code that communicates with it thru the serial
port locks the port up, so if the user initiates a HotSync on the
device, the operation fails. I would like to have a setup where the
user presses a button on my Palm application to initiate a HotSync and
then continue with the Python program.
It would go like this: user presses special button on Palm,...

Does anyone have a method of determining if a visitor to a web page is using
a Palm or Blackberry mobile device?
With the code below, I can easily identify a Window CE, Pocket PC or Window
Mobile device, but am having trouble with the Palm.
My problem is that for those individuals I know who use Palms to access the
Internet, their browser is called Blazer and it returns an operating system
of Win98 and a browser of IE--hardly anything...

I will soon be purchasing my first PDA for use on my job and I would like to
(in time) create a sync between the Access db that I use on my desktop and
something for the pda. It would primarily be a list of contacts and daily
time tracking on the job site. My first assumption would be that a "pockePC"
running Windows Mobile would be the best choice since Microsoft Windows,
Microsoft Access, however, from my research thus far, Microsoft does...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
