I've marked up song lyrics with the <pre> tag because it seems the most
appropriate type of markup for the type of data. This results in
inefficient use of horizontal space due to UA's default rendering of
<pre> in a fixed width font.
To change that I'd have to specify a proportional font family, thereby
falling into the size pitfall that is associated with any sort of author
specified font family:
a) If I specify a sans serif font...

All,
SQL Server uses a proportional fill method to add data to file groups where
a file group has multiple files. In general this is a good thing.
Unfortunately, the method appears to get switched off when new file(s) is
added. Other than exporting the data out of the filegroup, recreating the
filegroup and putting the data back in, is there a way to respread the
existing data back out and switching the proportional fill method back...

Hi,
I have installed a truetype font (.ttf) on a linux machne (SUSE linux
10, KDE) by copying it to my .fonts folder. I can use the font in all
applications like open-office and firefox browser.
However, I cannot use the font in a python app that I am writing. The
list returned by Tkfont.families does not contain this particular font.
Any suggestions ?

Hi,
I have been experimenting with some textarea automatic resize scripts.
Most that I have found count the number of characters in the textarea
and divide by the number of columns. This works will with monospaced
fonts or with just wide letters like 'M'. However if I fill the text
area with proportional font 'i' characters then a lot of white space
builds up at the end of the text area. Is there a way to account for
proportional fonts...

Hello,
I have 3 things to consider here, one is source image, form and picture box.
My picture or image on the form must be proportional in size to the original image. This image on form should be proportional even during resizeing of the form.
For example if the origianal image is square in shape, my image on form must always be square .
if original image is rectangle with width > height by 10 times, my image on form ,nothing but

In the plant, we have monitors that range in size, and we force our
application to be full screen.
The font for the screen has been designed for 800x600 screens, which is the
smallest size resolution that we use here.
However, whenever someone runs the form on a monitor that has the resolution
set higher (like 1600x1200), the text is too small to be read from a distance.
Is there a simple way to tell the application to fit the screen...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
