cc processing and web service?

Any thoughts on a reliable, easy to use credit card processing company?
I'm new to ecommerce and am trying to set up a small store.
Can I use a web service to do this? I already have the cart code finished.

Thanks,
Mark

I would use Authorize.NET SIM payment gateway service. It does require you
having a merchant account. If this is not your option, then pay pal might be
your best bet. I don't know in any CC processing Web Service. Its not a
secure way to do communications especially for credit cards

You'll need a component to hook up with some kind of payment system.
Here's some links that can get you started:

http://www.verisign.com/products-ser...ent/index.html

Originally posted to microsoft.public.dotnet.distributed_apps with no response. Reposted here with additional thoughts. --- Hello, I'm writing a Windows service which performs some potentially long-running, uninterruptable processes. When the service starts, I create a separate worker thread to perform the work so as to not block the service control manager upon startup. The design quandry I'm running into though is how best

I have just started a project that's going to do very heavy credit card processing through asp.net and i had some questions. I've never really done any cc processing through code and I wasn't sure where to get started. Can anyone suggest a particular gateway or cc processor? I saw a component called ..net charge that seems really promising, has anyone used it? Have any of you done a full e-commerce site and have some suggestions? What is...

Hello, I have a multithreaded windows NT service application (vb.net 2003) that I am working on (my first one), which reads a message queue and creates multiple threads to perform the processing for long running reports. When the processing is complete it uses crystal reports to load a template file, populate it, and then export it to a PDF. It works fine so far....

Hi, I thought I'd just open a thread in an attempt to get peoples feelers with regards to multithreading vs Async Web Service processing. Of course Web Services makes it easy to do Async method calling, but what if you are already in a worker thread in a Windows Forms application when doing the web service call. In this case there is no need to use Async Begin..End features that .NET kindly presents us with.

I have a VS.NET 2003 project that's giving me issues. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated! I have a fairly straight-forward system of server controls and web services, where the server controls access the web services for content. The prolem I'm having is very odd. One of my controls is calling the corresponding web service as normal. However, the client application is continuting to process PRIOR TO the completion of the...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it. First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
