I have a VB6 SP6 MDAC 2.8 application talking to SQL Server. Once I've
installed this application on my local machine I have been able to move the
..exe file to a file server and it runs just fine from there for all my local
users. This is very handy for updating the application without having to
reinstall it on each user's machine each time. They just use a shortcut
pointing to the file server .exe file

I am trying to deploy my Smart Client (it accesses a Web Service) on to a server.It works fine in my machine and also works when others access it from my machine
But when deployed to another server
1)Locally on the server just double clicking the exe it runs fin
2)But when accessed on the server via browser it fail
3)It fails when accessed via other machines using the browse

I found out that only using winform I can use the winword interop and
generate word document in the client machine and connect to a remote
database, so that I have made a winform application which accesses
winword on the client and a remote db.
Afterwards I wanted to use the no touch deployment but the winform
cannot anymore start winword on the client, and I get a security
exception.
Does that mean that I cannot use no touch deployment...

I have created an application that uses IIS to host remote components. All
the remote components are listed in app.config in client and web.config in
server. Now the app.config can contain either localhost name/IP address to

This is such a "dead in the water" problem I don't even know if this is the

Here's a problem I haven't run into before. I'm testing my site on a remote
server. This morning, I changed an error message in an email, tested it
locally, then used 'Copy Web Site...' to copy the change to the remote

I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
