How Add Existing Folder to Project

How do you add an existing folder to a project in VS.NET? It will only let
me create new folders, or add existing files.

Thanks.

Work it around. Rename the existing folder, create a new one with the name
you need in vs.net and then copy the files over.

Use windows explorer to get the folder in the correct position,
enable "Show All Files" (at the top of the solution explorer in VS).
The folder will be shown in grey (you might need to refresh, using
the "Refresh" button near the "Show all files").
Right-mouse, "include in project".

I've posted this in other places, but didn't get an answer. The project I'm working on is C#, so perhaps this is an okay place to post this. If there's a more appropriate newsgroup, I'm open to it. I've tried microsoft.public.dotnet.faqs and m.p.d.framework. ----- Hi, I have an issue with Visual Studio dotnet when using "Add Existing Item" to a web project. When I create a new project, that option works fine. When I

I have a folder containing many subfolders (and subfolders and....) all containing various .cs files. Is there any "easy" way to get them all added to the solution. Preferable would be that the folders are actually created in the Solution Explorer so that I can find things easily. Its easy to select multiple files out of a single folder, but not recursively into subfolders. Any ideas? -- Adam Clauss

Hi all, Very Basic Question here. I can create new ASP.NET sites using VS.NET 2003 on my server, but for some reason I can't figure out how to connect to an existing web, when there isn't already a solution or project file. In the old Visual Studio 6, you could create a new solution, connect to an existing server, and "download" all the existing code into your new solution. How do I do that in VS.NET 2003? In particular, I'm trying to...

I need to add additional .aspx pages to an existing web site. I was hoping to create a new web project in VS 2003, build the project, copy the .aspx files and the .dll into the virtual directory of the existing web site. The existing web site would have a page with a link to the new web pages. I am getting the error of "It is an error to use a section registered as allowDefinition='MachineToApplication' beyond application level. This...

We currently have a solution up and working on VS 2005 and bound to source control VSS 6. I want to now add our DATABASE folder from VSS to our existing solution. My first approach has been to create a new Database Project and to get it working. In our tree in VSS the folder structure is similar to the following:

Hi, How do I go about installing another Web Site Project inside my existing VS2005 website project. I currently have both a forum WSP and my main WSP application within the same solution. Both compile and run without error. However they are separate applications and I would like to have them together in order to make use of my masterpages, and share controls between. Do I need to combine the web.config files? I figured I would just...

I'm working in Visual Studio 2003 and I'm trying to add a web project to a solution. When I right-click on the solution and select "Add Existing Project you want to add the project from:" that is prepopulated with "http://localhost." When I click "OK," the "Add Existing Project" dialog comes up with the "localhost" folder selected. Inside this folder, I am expecting to see the "csproj" files inside my "inetpub\wwroot" folder, but...

I just copied the file folder containing an ASP.NET application from a backup on network share, to a new development workstation. But in the process, I've lost the .sln file. (BTW, I am accostomed moreso to .NET Windows Forms development, where the ..sln (and other metadata files) are all self-contained within the project file. In that case, I never have problems moving the project from one system or folder to another.) How do you...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
