IIS settings to give faster response

Dear All,
The following is the setting on IIS on a typical Client Server we
are working on
Authentication Methods
Anonymous access [x]
(No user name/password required to access this resource.)

Account used for anonymous access:
User name: IUSR_PC-JACK-LP
Password: xxxxxx

Allow IIS to control password [x]
Authenticated access

For the following authentication methods, user name and password
are required when
- anonymous access is disabled, or
- access is restricted using NTFS access control lists

Digest authentication for Windows domain servers []

Basic authentication (password is sent in clear text) []

Default domain:

Realm: JSONCMP.COM

Integrated Windows authentication [x]
Virtual Directory tab

When connecting to this resource, the content should come from:
A directory located on this computer [x]
A share located on another computer
A redirection to a URL

Local Path: C:\Inetpub\wwwr oot\JSONSRV
Script source access[] Log visits [x]
Read [x] Index this resource[]
Write []
Directory browsing []

Application Settings
Application name:
Starting point: <Default We...\JSonSrv
Execute Permissions: Scripts only
Application Protection: Medium (Pooled)

Default Web Site

HTTP Keep-Alives Enabled []

I have the following questions:
1. For an Intranet application is this setting fine?
2. Do I need to have a separate setting for ASPX pages and
WebServices?
3. Do these settings play a role in the response speed?
4. My Client application for the first time takes time to find the
proxy and download the WSDL (WebServer is on a different mc and has
been accessed b4 by some other user). The Google sample seems to be
faster. How can I cache the proxy url the next time my client starts
the application?

Please help.

TALIA
Many Regards
Jack

I have a page written in ASP.NET that uses some Javascript to modidy the .innerHTML property of a DIV tag. The page works great in FireFox, but in IE6, the page tends to pull the content out of its local cache and not modify the DIV tag. The Javascript code is run in the correct places and during the correct events, it's just that the content of the page is not being updated. The page uses Postbacks. My current IE settings specify to...

I've written an application with vb.net 2003 (framework 1.1) which automates a 3rd party viewing/printing application (via an activex control). I've released several versions over the last year without problem, but since getting a new laptop, people can't run the program since I built it with the new machine. Even if I take the modified code and build it with my old machine, it still crashes. I thought maybe it was the code, but it...

When using the properties designer to store application wide properties how do you get this to work across a project group containing an EXE and a collection of DLLs. I'm using C#.Net 2005. I noticed that the designer creates and app.config that gets copied to the output directory as a .exe.config or .dll.config. In this setup any Application Scope property that is in the .exe.config file can be read in from the file and used. My...

Hello, Using VS2005. I have an assembly library that can be called from a Web site asp.net application or from a winform application. From this library I need to retrieve a path using simply a key like 'libPath'. As far as winform and asp.net share the same common base class for settings, SettingsBase, how to manage this ? For winform the value should be set in app.config and for web site in

Hello NG, Is it possible to share the settings of an application with a class libreary? In my case I have a application and a set of different reports (home made) put into a class library. The plan is to delivere different report.dlls with the main app. But it is essentially importent, that the reports and the app use the same settings.

C# VS.Net 1.1 (2003) - trouble with using IE proxy server settings I've got a program that detects if it can connect to a webservice. It sends a System.Net.WebRequest and then checks the information it gets back to findout if it can connect to the service properly. If there is an error it will catch an exception and everything is fine. This used to work wonderfully, until somebody decided they needed to use a proxy server. (rats!) It's...

I have worked with application settings in VS2005 and C# for awhile, but usually with standard types. I have been trying to store a custom container/class/type in an application setting and I have seen erratic results. I am aware of one known defect where user classes do not show up in the list of types on the Property/Settings page in the visual designer and I am wondering if I am encountering some other peculiar issue, or if there are...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
