developing remotely - "vs developer" group

Hello

This might not be the right group for this topic, but I figure that
alot of you will be able to help me out.

I have IIS 5.1 running on an xp pro machine on my local network.
My goal is to be able to access the projects on that server as a "VS
Developer".
I can see that the user group VS Developer on the server machine is
having access rights to the wwwroot and all that, but how can I allow
one or two specific computers on the network to become one ?

There's nothing listed on the server when I use VS.NET to open a
project from web on my laptop for instance, so I guess this is purely
a security issue, and I'm pretty clueless on that...

Can anyone help me out ?

Thanks,

Beren

Hi, I'm having a few issues adapting to new 2.0 "website" project vs. the old 1.1 "web application". One of the major issues I'm having is with the notion of namespaces. Using the old way, I could add a directory to my project (say, "Controls"), then add a user control to that directory. From an .aspx I could then import the namespace ("using .Controls";), and then reference that control. With the 2.0 way of doing things, if I add a...

this may be more of an "html" issue, but I'll wing it. i've got a multi-language site, where the home-page of each language group features a link to a popup window that offers background info on site management. the popup is fired by a javascript function, when they click the site management link. there's also a "window close" function button so they can nuke it as they please. now, oddly, people who search for my site in the chinese...

Please redirect me if this message is posted to the wrong group. Given the intention of delivering content to an HTTP user agent (such as Internet Explorer) which is to be immediately opened by an associated application, there are the Content-Disposition type options of "inline" or "extension-token". Specifically as regards Internet Explorer, I've tried both inline and the specific filename extension (xls,csv,pdf,doc,...) and the...

Hello Bytes! Maybe my question seems a bit silly (as one could simply answer it "Well, what are you more passionate about?" or stuff like that - please don't answer like this), but I am in a bit of a dilemma and time is short at the moment and I need to make a decision before it's too late. I have just begun my second year in a UK uni for a BSc Hons Web Systems Development but I am not that happy about the course. Very diluted in my opinion....

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development projectplanning, coding, testing, and deploymentwithout human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
