hello,
i have a web-form with a GridView control, i wanted to update & delete,
using the AutoGenerateEditButton.
when i used it with sqlDataSource (executing SP in the DB) it works
like a charm, but when i want to pass the data through the
application's layers (BL etc.), it did not work.
it seems that the 'AutoGenerateEditButton' is capable only with
sqlDataSource...

I'm building some user controls. I very much like how you can build custom
properties to be bound to a user control, and how instances of that control
will show those custom properties in the VS.NET IDE.
I've made a user control -- let's call it MyUserControl.ascx -- with a
DataGrid and an SqlDataSource. The SqlDataSource that loads content by
categoryID.
I've defined a property on MyUserControl.ascx called ContentCategoryID.

I use an Access db in my application. So far I have been exclusively
working wtih the AccessDataSource controls to hook up to the db. I
know that Access db connections can also be established with
SqlDataSource.
What are the trade-offs between the AccessDataSource and SqlDataSource?
Also, I am confused about the connection state. What are the rules of
thumb for maintaining a db connection open vs closing it?

I have two dropdownlists that are bound to the same datasource and I
have a couple of questions:
1) Because they are bound to the same datasource, I am assuming that
they only make 1 round trip to the DB server -- is that correct?
2) On a user's click of a button, one of the actions in the button

Hi,
I have SqlDataSource control that makes a "select count" to show how many
rows there are in a Table and it is working fine on first page load.
The problem is that when I am inserting a new row to the database table at
the same ASPX page the rows count from the SqlDataSource remain the same.
To refresh the SqlDataSource I have used his
Select(DataSourceSelectArguments.Empty) but no luck.

I have a dropdownlist attached to a SqlDataSource inside an Accordion.
I receive the following error message when the SqlDataSource is inside
the Accordion:
"The DataSourceID of 'ddGroup' must be the ID of a control of type
IDataSource. A control with ID 'SqlDataSourceGroup' could not be
found."
I've been suggested to move the SqlDataSource out of the Accordion to
