Hi,
I made the unfortunate mistake of installing Windows 2000 Service Pack
4 and .NET Framework 1.0 Service Pack 2 on a development machine
(1.0.3705.288). This broke the Visual Studio .NET IDE. However, the
Fixxml.exe at Microsoft.com fixed that issue. We developed without
issue for the rest of the day (mostly javascript/related client side
code) but then the famous "Error trying to run project: Unable to
start debugging on the web...

I get the following when trying to debug on a remote webserver.
Error while trying to run project: Unable to start debugging on the
webserver not implemented
I did a search on the microsoft website and didn't find anything.
Also did a search using google and didn't come up with anything.
I can say I was debugging the site earlier in the morning.
I can't imagine settings changed on their own.
Anyhow has anyone else expirenced this one and...

Hello,
Using .net 2 and vs2005, I need to debug a component part of a web site,
this component need a .NET 2 web site to be ran and the web site runs under
IIS, using a special port number.
I tried starting the url of the web site as start phase, but debugger
doesn't seem to attach to the process, I never stopped on my break points in
debug configuration with debug in web.config.

Hi,
I was debugging my JavaScript in VS2005, the script probably had an
error some ware (Line 25), after I fixed the error, I am trying to run
the page again I am getting the same error "Illegal argument" at
that same line 25.
What ever I did does not help, I have closed the program, I restarted
my computer, I changed the page to contain very simple html script with

This is happening on a WinXP Pro SP2 machine with Visual Studio 2005 & local
IIS as the debugger. Everything was working fine this morning (and had been
working for weeks/months prior). After a trip to windows update (where I
installed IE 7, .NET 3.0, VS 2005 SP1 and misc updates for XP such as
timezone changes & a new sound driver) I can no longer debug my web app on
