Dear All,
I'm facing a strange problem, I've an ASP.NET web application that contains
an admin folder, in this folder the access should be restricted to specific
users, as i'm using windows authentication and using impersonation
(<identity impersonate="tr ue" />) i've applied NTFS permissions over the
admin folder, but all users still access the files within this folder!!,
when the users type the folder ( http://testapp/admin) only they get the
username and password dialog , but if they typed
( http://testapp/admin/admin.aspx) they get the page properly. ?!
This web server also have SPS2003 installed.
Please advise.
Regards,
Mohamed 1 1314
Mohamed,
When you restricted the NTFS permissions on the folder, did you propagate
the new permissions to the existing files in the folder? If not, the
behaviour you are seeing is probably to be expected.

Hi.
I would like to confirm a behaviour in the authorization element from
the web.config file. Suppose the following (using Forms authentication):
<authorization>
<deny users="?" />
<deny users="User1" />
<allow users="User1" />
</authorization>

I've implemented forms authentication and authorization on my application.
In my Web.Config, my authorization section looks like this..
<authorization>
<allow roles="admin" />
<deny users="*" />
</authorization>
If an authenticated user, who is NOT designated the role "admin" attempts
to access this folder, he/she is simply redirected to the login page.

Hello,
In my web site I need to restrict the access to page1.aspx, page2.aspx
and page3.aspx to users which had login and which access level is
"administrator".
The remaining pages can be accessed by all users without needing to
login.
My problem is how to set this in my web.config <authorization> tag:

ASP.NET 2.0
How do I configure my web site to require forms authorization only for a
subfolder off the root? I know how to set Web.config for forms
authentication for the whole site, but I need the root folder to allow all
read access, and a single subfolder to require authorization.
Thanks for any assistance.

Is the authorization tag/class in web.config\<system.web> available

I am starting to think there is some kind of conspiracy :) but everywhere I
try to locate some (working) code showing how to change NTFS partitions on a
network share I end up at a dead end. I found tons of references to a tech
note (below) but MS seems to have 'lost' it :)
Any ideas?

I am trying to set up an intranet at work that will use our Active directory
to authorize our users. We also want them to access the site from the
outside (such as at home) and also be authenticated by our Active Directory.
We don't want to set up a separate Sql setup.
I tried to set up my Web.config file like so:
**********************************************************
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8" ?>

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
