server cannot use remote machine web files

Hi

I am currently trying to use a test machine to access web site files on a
remote machine.

Once set up IIS with the files pointing to a share on the remote machine, i
try view the default page.
I get an error message statting 'The base type 'NameSpace.Clas s.Default'
does not exist in the source file 'Default.cs'.'
where namespace and class are the names of my namespace and class.
The test machine is running Windows 2000 sp4
The remote machine is running server 2003.
The remote machine is also on a domain and the test machine IS NOT (due
to licencing) -- i expect that to be the problem.

The problem only occurs with code behind the page, if i use a single aspx
page, this works fine.

If i set up the site on my local computer's IIS pointing to the same machine
i can access the site fine.
My local machine is running windows XP and is on the domain (My reason for
thinking the domain is the issue)

Any insight or ideas will be greatly appreciated.

Hello- I have a Sql Server 2000 database offsite that I would like to back up to a local machine. I am using Enterprise Manager on a local machine to administer the remote db. Whats the best way to schedule backups so the remote db is backed up to the local machine? Can this be done in Enterprise Manager? Would you recommend any 3rd party software?

I have a C# client app that sometimes needs to do thousands of specialized file renames of files on a file server in the same domain. If the files reside locally on the client machine, the renames take only a few seconds. If the files reside on the file server, a set of 30,000 file renames may take a half hour to do. I'm just using File.Move to do the rename. The renames are not moving the files to a different folder, they are just...

Don't know if there is a simple solution for this one or not. When running SQL server on a machine with 2000 loaded and the complete SQL package I don't have any issues. Now I'm trying to login using my XP machine with MSSQL developer edition, and I can not connect to my remote servers via TCP/IP. It can see the server, and it establishes a connection, but I can't access my files, and the connection seems incredibly slow. I have checked my...

I have a function that simply returns TRUE if it can connect to a particular Sql Server 2005 express, or FALSE if it cannot. I am getting some strange error codes returned when the computer that sql server resides on is not reachable. The error is different depending on the connection string that I use. If I use the following connection string: "server=192.1.1.1; Initial Catalog=master; uid=The_User; password=The_Password; Connect...

Hello! I'm trying to copy a file from another computer on the network that I do not have permission with my current logon details to access. If I open the folder using the Windows file manager with the path "\\ 192.168.2.2\temp" (where temp is a shared directory on server \\192.168.2.2), windows prompts for a User Name and password of a user who has permission on that computer to access that directory. Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
