what do you mean you cant use Response.Redire ct in class.vb file ?
is it the codebehind file or are you talking about somewhere with custom
class ?
if within custom class consider using
HttpContext.Cur rent.Response.R edirect()

I'm trying to build a tray for users to download their selected items. I was wondering if anyone knows how to response.redirect a file (for the user to download) and check to see if the download was successful/unsuccessful, then have the asp page reload itself based on the result? e.g. something like this: if Session("FileName") <> "" Then 'a file is ready for download response.redirect (Session("FileName"))

I am having a strange problem that I cannot solve. I have an asp page that I use for a user to login and gain access to other pages. When the user logs in I set a couple of session variables like Session("UserType") = "Sales". Then based on the Session("UserType") I use response.redirect to take the user to a specific page. The logic and response.redirect works fine on a Win2k server but when I move the page to a server running Win2003 the...

I have some issues with HTTP Headers and I was hoping for some pointers or references to good articles. Here is the problem. I have 6 .aspx pages, each page contains a common .ascx. This ascx serves two purposes, 1. it contains a tab strip with response.redirects to navigate to the other pages; 2. I authenticate the user by check to see if a cookie exists, if it doesn't I redirect to a login screen.

I have written an HttpHandler which I invoke through an ashx page. The HttpHandler does various things to process the request, then it is supposed to redirect to a confirmation page. Everything up to the redirect works fine, but I can't get the redirect to work. If I do a ... context.Response.Write("Hello World"); .... the HttpHandler works great and the browser loads the text fine, but if I change it to ...

If I have two webforms, form1.aspx and form2.aspx, and I want to do a Response.Redirect from form1 to form2, I can write Response.Redirect("form2.aspx") However, if somebody changes the name of form2, the redirect will no longer work. I could write Response.Redirect(GetType(form2).Name + ".aspx")

Hi, I have a custom class with a public method. I want to perform a repose.redirect if an error occurs in the public method GetUserRoles. Unfortunately, Visual Studio 2003 is throwing an error when I try to do this. I have imported the System.Web namespace and the same code works fine on a ..aspx page. Can you not perform response.redirects in a custom class that is being called by another aspx page? Please help.

I have an ASP page that is using an XMLHTTP object to request various pages from my server. I keep a single session throughout the XMLHTTP requests by bassing the ASPSESSIONID cookie through the XMLHTTP object. However, when the page requested through the XML object makes a <%Response.Redirect()%> call, a new session is created each time. Is this a flaw in the XMLHTTP Object? How can I force the session to remain the same after a...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it. First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
