I've been chasing this problem around for a few days now and its driving me
nuts. We keep getting these errors in our web application intermittently.
I can't cause the problem myself to attempt to reproduce. From the reading
I've done, people run into this when urlencoding and urldecoding improperly,
but I don't think that is the case here. It looks like there's an issue
with the ViewState...perhaps its getting corrupted or truncated...

Hi all,
I am trying to save the viewstate in a session instead of storing it in a
hidden of the webpage which is default. This because of performance reasons.
When I use line 2 in combination with line 4, my application works. Using
Line 1 in combination with line 3 (and of course renaming httpSessionState1
to httpSessionState) results in the error as mentioned below.
protected override object LoadPageStateFromPersistenceMedium()

When it comes to ViewState in ASP.NET, I have a mixed feeling of both
love and hate. For love, it simplifies many aspects of common tasks; for
hate, it bloats web pages with large amount of cryptic (though not
really :-)) text.
I find that LOS formatter is not as effecient as what Microsoft claims.
It takes up much of CPU time. For example, it is very obvious in CPU
utilization (up to 50% for one page) when serializing/deseriailzing a...

With respect to Peter Bromberg's article (
http://www.eggheadcafe.com/articles/20040613.asp ) I wish to store my
viewstate info in the Session object rather than the cache (as it is per
user info). I have tried the following but am unable to serialize the
viewstate??
protected override void SavePageStateToPersistenceMedium(object viewState)
{
string str = "VIEWSTATE_" + Request.UserHostAddress + "_" +
DateTime.Now.Ticks.ToString();

Hi,
I appear to have a problem where the user is not kicked back to the
forms authentictation url when they post a webform, via a get, that
results in a long url due to viewstate. Instead they get the error at
the end of the post
Web.Config:
<authentication mode="Forms">
<forms path = "/" loginUrl = "View/Login.aspx" timeout="1"

I've got an .aspx webform for searching my database. It basically takes user
input and passes it as a parm into a stored proc to search a table. The
results are returned in a SQLDataReader and bound to a datagrid on the same
page. It works 90% of the time as expected. However, for some unknown
reason, I randomly get the error below. The HttpException says there is an
'Invalid_Viewstate'. Ok, but why? I'm posting back to the same page. If...

Hi,
I’m implementing SavePageStateToPersistenceMedium and
LoadPageStateFromPersistenceMedium in asp.net 2.0 to increment performance
avoiding sending viewstate of pages to browser.
The code I use is:
protected override void SavePageStateToPersistenceMedium(object state)
{
string str = "VIEWSTATE_" + Request.UserHostAddress + "_" +
DateTime.Now.Ticks.ToString();
Cache.Add(str, state, null,

Hello all!
I'm creating a web site in ASP.NET (VB.NET). One of the requirements was to
allow users to create orders going through several steps. A must have is to
have an option to save the work in any phase (any step) and to be able to
continue later.
My idea was to create several pages as steps (no, wizard control is not
suitable for several reasons) and to allow users to save any step to the
database, that is, a ViewState of the...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
