Cookies across sites

Hi,

Is it possible to pass cookies across sites?
for instance i want to pass a session id from htp://server1 to
http://server2.

If I follow the code snippet below

HttpCookie cookie = new HttpCookie("Ses ID","SomeIDValu e");
Response.Cookie s.Add(cookie);
Response.Redire ct("http://Server2/default.aspx);

I am finding that browser does not pass the cookie set on the Get
Request to Server.

Appreciate your thoughts on this.

Hi,

Cookies can only be accessed from the issued site however if your sites are
at the same domain like:

site1.server.co m and site2.server.co m set the cookie's domain
property to server.com and it would be accesiable from *.server.com

hope this helps

I have been using document.cookie to write and read cookies. Unfortunately, when I open my page in Internet Explorer, I don't see what I wrote to my cookie while in Netscape Navigator. Similarly, my page that I opened in Netscape doesn't see what I wrote to the cookie while in IE. Surely there must be away for IE and Netscape to read the same cookie information ??. Otherwise, what happens if a user just happens to be browsing my page in...

I am setting a cookie on a subdomain: http://store1.mydomain.com Then the store takes me to a shopping cart that is at: http://shopping.mydomain.com Somewhere the following code (taken and modified from The JavaScript Source) is broken between domains, because when I click my "store" link that should read the cookie and send me to store1.mydomain.com or storeN.mydomain.com I get the default template store.

If I load a JS file from a different domain, the browser requests it via HTTP, so I assume it sends any relevant cookie headers for that domain; why then can I not access them? E.g. suppose I have this in a file on domain1.com: <SCRIPT TYPE="text/javascript" src="http://www.domain2.com/cookie.js"> </SCRIPT> and in cookie.js I have

Hello, I've been reading old posts and articles but haven't found a solution yet for the following. I'd like to authenticate users across two different sites on two different domains--in other words, a single sign-on scheme--so once the user has logged into Site 1, we can transfer his login or session to Site 2.

Hello, I would like to share cookies across various web based apps, and from what I understand your apps can do this as long as they all belong to the same domain. For example app1.mydomain.com can share cookies with app2.mydomain.com, as long as you specify ".mydomain.com" as the cookie's domain. However, I'm trying to share cookies in an environment where the domains are more like app1.A.mydomain.com and app2.B.mydomain.com. It's

Assume you have two virtual directories on the same web server and in the same logical web site. One is at www.mywebsite.com/v1/ and the other is at www.mywebsite.com/v2/. If I create a cookie in v1, is that cookie accessible from v2? My hope is the answer is yes. Also, would the type of cookie (file versus session based) impact this? Thanks in advance. Mark

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
