Hi
Any input on what is best practice:
1 ) Put an Interface definition (e.g. IMyInterface) into a separate Assembly
2 ) Put the Interface definirion into the same assembly that holds the
concreate and implementing class?
MS seems to like the first approach with 2 assemblies over the latter with
just one assembly?

Hi all,
I have a solution which contains multiple projects.
Those multiple projects should share the same session. For example,
users login, create the session for users then these session information
should be accessed by multiple projects. How do I archieve this? Any
tutorial out there?
Thanks

I have some program constants that I need to set and I thought it would be
best to set them all up in a central location so that I can change them
quickly when we go from development to production. What is the best way to
do that? Should I put them in web.config? Should I create a special class
for these settings? Wherever it is best to write them, can you give me a
line or 2 of code to show the best way to set a constant string?

I have a header server(.ascx) control that I want to use with all my
existing seperate web apps. These web apps are configured as seperate
web apps in IIS but when I try to build my solutiuon referencing an
..ascx that lives outside the application I get a failure.
Is there any way to have a global ascx file that multiple seperate
applications can use?
Thanks

Hi There
I have multiple asp.net web apps that all make use of a common set of sql
data. I currently have each application cache this data using the cache api.
As the data is same for all apps, I want to save memory and "share" the
cache across all sites.
I was thinking of creating a webservice that would cache the data once and
serve it to all sites.

Where I work, we basically have 1 large ASP.NET application that we
work on.
This is compiled into one big DLL.
I think it would be a good idea to somehow break up the project, so
that if I am in the middle of development on some sub project, I don't
have to push up that code to fix a bug in another part of the
application.

I have been desperately trying to get this to work. I create a C# Web
App on the localhost (the only place i'm allowed to put it). Put an
arbitrary button or something in, compile it, run it... everything
works fine.
Copy the directory over to a network share, set up a virual directory
under my localhosts IIS so that it points to that network share and i
get an inclusion error:
Parser Error Message: Could not load type 'helP.Global'.

Hi all,
I am pretty new to asp.net; I've done lots of classic asp, but am just
beginning to get my mind wrapped around .net.
What I'd like to do is include some code that tests if a user is logged
in, on each and every page, and redirects the user to a login page if
s/he's not logged in. The login page will also take care of some
standard setup, such as choosing/populating a user profile. I used to
use <!-- #include ... --for this,...

ONU (Optical Network Unit) is one of the key components for providing high-speed Internet services. Its primary function is to act as an endpoint device located at the user's premises. However, people are often confused as to whether an ONU can Work As a Router. In this blog post, we’ll explore What is ONU, What Is Router, ONU & Router’s main usage, and What is the difference between ONU and Router. Let’s take a closer look !

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

The next Access Europe User Group meeting will be on Wednesday 1 May 2024 starting at 18:00 UK time (6PM UTC+1) and finishing by 19:30 (7.30PM).
In this session, we are pleased to welcome a new presenter, Adolph Dupré who will be discussing some powerful techniques for using class modules.
He will explain when you may want to use classes instead of User Defined Types (UDT). For example, to manage the data in unbound forms.
Adolph will...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
