I run a web site that searches for data on other web sites and displays
the results for the user onscreen.
Currently, it uses perl to fetch the data, sort it and display it. It
can take quite a few seconds.
Is there a way to fetch the data and have it displayed as it comes in,
but also to sort it each time a new entry comes in?
I can display results as they come in real time using perl / html, but

Hello All,
In IIS 6.0 We have a concept of worker processes and application pools.
As I understand it, we can have multiple worker process per appliction
pool. Each worker process is dedicated to a pool. If I assign only one
application to a applicaton pool and have multiple worker processes
assigned to that pool. Will my application be processed by many worker
processes?

Hi,
We have implemented a IIS NLB farm and would like to know if a SQL
Session database can be used to host multiple sites? As the entry in
web.config does not allow a database name to be specified it would mean
either multiple instances / servers if more than 1 site needed to store
session in a SQL database. As such I am guessing it will work but I would
like to confirm this.
Any info would be great

Hello
I would like to have several sites share a single web.config file. To accomplish this, I would point the root of these sites to the same folder. Is there any reason why I might not want to do this? (IIS 5 or 6
In case you're wondering why I would do this, we have many web sites on a single server, and there are groups of sites that need to share common configuration information. I'd like to ease some administration by having one...

Hi all,
I've got a deployment issue I hope is solvable at all, and appreciate all
help anyone can give me.
We've got an ASP.NET-application (a sort of function library shared by our
customers, a helpApp) that is distributed to several IIS-servers and in
several versions on these servers. The application is a virtual directory in
the site and has the same virtual name regardless of version and exists in
several sites and on several...

I'm currently using ASP.NET with VS2003 and SQL Server 2003. The ASP.NET app
i have made is running on IIS v6 and consists of a number of pages that allow
the user to read information from the database into classes, which are used
throughout the application. I have made class collections which, upon reading
from the DB, create an instance of the class and store the DB values in
there temporarily. My problem is that if user1 looks at...

I'm developing a service which is two sites: a Mobile Site and a PC-Based
Site. The whole goal is to have them operate very similarly but, of course,
there will be many differences:
1. Web.configs will be different to handle cookieless vs. cookied Sessions
2. Mobile site will have no Master Pages (unfortunately)
3. Design of pages will be VASTLY different
However, many elements will be exactly the same:
a. I'll use most of the same...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

The next Access Europe User Group meeting will be on Wednesday 1 May 2024 starting at 18:00 UK time (6PM UTC+1) and finishing by 19:30 (7.30PM).
In this session, we are pleased to welcome a new presenter, Adolph Dupré who will be discussing some powerful techniques for using class modules.
He will explain when you may want to use classes instead of User Defined Types (UDT). For example, to manage the data in unbound forms.
Adolph will...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
