Repeater ItemCommand fires only after Postback

I got a weird problem with a repeater.

The Repeater has an ImageButton in its ItemTemplate.
The Repeater has an ItemCommand defined.

If the user clicks one of the buttons, nothing happens.
If he clicks again, after postback, the ItemCommand is raised like it
is supposed to do.
This behavior is reproducible.

I am binding the Repeater to a DataSet.
My Page_Load is empty, instead I am doing the DataBinding in
Page_PreRender.
Since the ItemCommand is changing the underlying data, I would have to
DataBind twice, if I did it in Page_Load.
By the way, I tried DataBinding in Page_Load (and in ItemCommand), but
the problem remains the same. Only after the first postback the
buttons work.

Any ideas how this comes to pass?

Thanks in advance,
Kay

Hello, I have a repeater and in each itemtemplate I have a radiobuttonlist. I am attempting to figure out how on postback I could iterate through the rows displayed by the repeater and for each row grab the selected value of the radio button list. When is the Repeater.Items collection populated? I first attempted to access the Repeater.Items collection from the Command event of a normal linkbutton on the page, but it was empty. Is...

Well I'm trying to catch and act upon a button event that is placed within the item template of a repeater control. Yet the code I'm using isn't working. What I've seen out there to explain how to do this is way complicated and assumes a familiarity with dot net that I don't have yet. I'll get it eventually but this is where I'll get it. Here's my code. First part is the user control and second is the code behind page Use control

Hi, I have a Repeater with CheckBox in one of its columns. In ItemDataBound handler I'm doing: chk.CheckedChanged += new EventHandler(chk_CheckedChanged). The chk_CheckedChanged handler is supposed to fire when I click the checkbox. Hoewever - it does not! It does not depend on EnableSessionState, it does not depend on AutoPostBack. simply - does not fire at all. Now - how am I going to know if user selects one of the rows in the...

I have a Repeater on an ASP.NET page. If I click a Button in the Repeater, the Repeater's ItemCommand event fails to fire. If anyone can explain why it doesn't fire I'd be grateful. Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...
