Urgent help reqd in Exception handling

Hi Guys,

I am developing an asp.net application .In error handling , I have 2 web.congif files ,one is in Web(which is the virtual directory) ,other i have created in a folder in Web/Admin. The problem is i want 2 different custom error handling files ,one for the main site and other for the admin.In the config file in admin I wrote
<customErrors defaultRedirect ="CustomErrorAd min.aspx"
mode="On"
/>

and in the other config file i wrote

<customErrors defaultRedirect ="CustomError.a spx"
mode="On"
/>

When i run a file in admin and there is some error ,it successfully go to the CustomErrorAdmi n.aspx but when error occurs in the main site ,it throws a runtime error as follows---------------
Runtime Error
Description: An application error occurred on the server. The current custom error settings for this application prevent the details of the application error from being viewed.

Details: To enable the details of this specific error message to be viewable on the local server machine, please create a <customErrors > tag within a "web.config " configuration file located in the root directory of the current web application. This <customErrors > tag should then have its "mode" attribute set to "RemoteOnly ". To enable the details to be viewable on remote machines, please set "mode" to "Off".
<!-- Web.Config Configuration File -->

<configuratio n>
<system.web>
<customErrors mode="RemoteOnl y"/>
</system.web>
</configuration>
Notes: The current error page you are seeing can be replaced by a custom error page by modifying the "defaultRedirec t" attribute of the application's <customErrors > configuration tag to point to a custom error page URL.
<!-- Web.Config Configuration File -->

<configuratio n>
<system.web>
<customErrors mode="On" defaultRedirect ="mycustompage. htm"/>
</system.web>
</configuration>
Any help will be appreciated .
Thanks,
Kamal

Hi, I am an absolute newbie to Exception Handling, and I am trying to retrofit exception handling to a LOT of C++ code that I've written earlier. I am just looking for a bare-bones, low-tech exception handling mechanism which will allow me to pass character information about an error and its location from lower-level classes. Can you please critique the following exception handling mechanism in terms of my requirements ?

I am wondering if there are some best practices for determining a strategy for using try/catch blocks within an application. My current thoughts are: 1. The code the initiates any high-level user tasks should always be included in a try/catch block that actually handles any exceptions that occur (log the exception, display a message box, etc.). 2. Low-level operations that are used to carry out the high level tasks

I just installed the 4th one and it's Application_Start event is not firing. I have double-checked everything (and rechecked) and I haven't found anything that would explain why the Application is not starting. Here is what I have done so far to troubleshoot this: In IIS Manager I have ensured that there is a...

Does the "value" type (value as in key-value pair )of "std::map" require a default ctor even if it is not used ? If I comment out Line 1 in the code attached later, i.e remove the default ctor of "value" type of map, I get the following error: // -------------------------------------------- /usr/include/c++/3.2.3/bits/stl_map.h:225: no matching function for call to `FieldType::FieldType()'

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
