WHO HAS THE BEST COMPONENT FOR FILE UPLOAD? HELP!? has anyone achieved
100% success with HTTP uploading with Mac clients??? I thought the whole
<input type="file" .../> was a w3c standard that goes back 10 years!!
I have been doing web development with either asp or asp.net since 1998. I
have implemented almost every methodology for file uploading -> com+, asp
w/ado.stream, asp.net, asp.net private assemblies. In my past experienced,
the people uploading images have been administrators managing inventory or
content on a CMS, so they were forced to use IE5+.
I started working for a printing company back in 2002. Printing companies
NEED ftp access for their clients, especially MAC clients. The printing
industry is fueled by MAC. For 1.5 years, I have been on so many support
calls trying to get MAC users to connect to our ftp site that my head has
spun off. My boss and I were sick of all, so he wanted us to make it as
simple as possible. We bought an expensive FileUpload Control (asp.net),
which was working perfectly until this past friday when a Mac user trying to
upload a 50 meg file from his home DSL line failed at 75%.
any response is greatly appreciated!

I don't have experience with Mac browsers, but I did find FileUp to be a
good product for Windows. A quick way to check for Mac compatibility would
be to go to this page on a Mac and try an upload: http://demo.softartisans.com/default.aspx?PageID=293

Hi There,
I have a PHP script that sends an email with attachment and works great when
provided the path to the file to send.
However this file needs to be on the same server as the script.
I want to develop a webpage where people can send attachments that are
stored on their local PC.

Has anyone used pure python to upload files to a webdav server over SSL?
I have no control over the server. I can access it with all of the
various webdav GUIs such as Konqueror, Cadaver, etc. by using a URL like
this:
webdavs://dav.hostname.com/user_name/uploads
My goal is to upload files automatically with a python script. The
server requires authentication over SSL which I can do with urllib2 like

I am trying to code a file uploader (for forum/email attachments) from the
client computer to a remote web server via the PUT method (since POST is not
allowed ). However, the upload works ONLY when the file is inside
a shared folder on my computer. If I try to upload from any other folder it
does not work. Why is this?
Reason being that whenever I upload files on other forums or websites I know
I don't need to have my folder shared...

I've been trying to execute a javascript function just before submit on a
form that contains an <input type="file"> input field and it isn't working.
The reason I want to do this is the end users will be uploading files that
are between 1 and 2 Meg. in size, and they are not too knowledgeable about
computers. I want to disable the form buttons so they can't hit them after
they hit the "upload" button. We're trying to prevent them from...

I have an upload file input as:
<input id="MyFile" style="width:300px" type="File" runat="Server">
This works fine, but I find that if my page doesn't pass validation during
postback, the page comes back with all the data intact, except for the
upload object. The text box for "MyFile" (my example) is always cleared.
Why is that and is there a way to stop that from happening?
Thanks,

Hi. I've built a page using standard ASP.NET 2.0 features and when I upload a
large file (>20MB) to our intranet server, I get a paltry 100KB/s on our
100Mb/s LAN. Simply copying the file, I get around 7MB/s.
I'm using a FileUpload control on an .aspx page, and then I'm writing the
MyFileUpload.PostedFile.InputStream off to a database.
What can I do to speed up this uploading?
Thanks in advance

I was hopeing someone could help me out here. Been stumped on this
one all day.
This function
1. Checks uploaded files.
2. Creates two resized images from each (a full size, and a
thumbnail).
3. Returns an array with a bool (false if the upload failed), and an
error message.

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
