ASP.Net app error message when I try to access the component...... ..

I am getting the following error message.

I have logged into the system using my user name into the network.

How to find out in which account ASP.Net is running?

I have given access permission to two files
(MyComponent.re sx,MyComponent. vb). Not sure which files it wants the
permission.

Nish

Access to the registry key HKEY_CLASSES_RO OT\TransactionT esting.MyCompon ent
is denied.

Description: An unhandled exception occurred during the execution of the
current web request. Please review the stack trace for more information
about the error and where it originated in the code.

Exception Details: System.Unauthor izedAccessExcep tion: Access to the
registry key HKEY_CLASSES_RO OT\TransactionT esting.MyCompon ent is denied.

ASP.NET is not authorized to access the requested resource. Consider
granting access rights to the resource to the ASP.NET request identity.
ASP.NET has a base process identity (typically {MACHINE}\ASPNE T on IIS 5 or
Network Service on IIS 6) that is used if the application is not
impersonating. If the application is impersonating via <identity
impersonate="tr ue"/>, the identity will be the anonymous user (typically
IUSR_MACHINENAM E) or the authenticated request user.

To grant ASP.NET write access to a file, right-click the file in Explorer,
choose "Properties " and select the Security tab. Click "Add" to add the
appropriate user or group. Highlight the ASP.NET account, and check the
boxes for the desired access.

Looks like you're trying to access the registry? You have to give
aspnet access to that section. You can use regedt32 from the command
line to give the aspnet user the appropriate access (Security ->
Permissions)

I have a two tier system. I've created a COM+ package on the data tier (Win2003) and exported it as a COM+proxy (v 1.0 compliant) and installed this onto a Win2000 web application. I've created a simple VB6 application that I run on the web tier to call a method on the proxy stub and this successfully runs on the data tier. However,...

This has been driving me crazy. I have been trying to get the error handling working on my system and can get parts of it working and others won't work at all. I found that you can't access session variables from Application_Error event, but I need to so I don't need to set up traces to see what they are during an error. I am emailing...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not.
