ASP.net configuration problem - new user

I just installed VB.net 2003, upgrading from VB6. I tried to open a new
ASP.net Web Application and immediately got an error stating that my Web
Server isn't running ASP.net version 1.1. I tried running aspnet_regiis /i
and all the dotnetfix "framework repair" suggestions the Help link sent me
to, but no luck. I suspect I am not the first guy with this problem. I am
running IIS on a Windows XP system. Can anybody direct me to a site with
better directions then what I have been able to find thus far, or can you
tell me what the solution is (if it is as common as I suspect)?

Thanks in advance, and my appologies if this is an old problem that you guys
are tired of hearing about.

Well, the problem is resolved. After about an hour with Microsoft Tech
Support (and by the way they were great to work with), we determined that my
static IP address being selected in the default website properties instead
of "All Unassigned" was the problem. We switched it, and all works fine. I
have no idea what the reason is, but I guess it doesn't really matter.

Thanks again for all the input!

Regards, Jim

Hi Terry,

According to this page, under phone support, you get "2 incidents and
unlimited installation support at no charge."

http://support.microsoft.com/default...s;prodoffer62a

You can check if you have an OEM version here:

Hi Jim,

At this point, I would phone Microsoft Support and get it settled in real time.

They might have some tool that would diagnose what is going wrong. Don't forget that your VS.NET software comes with free support incidents and

this
sounds like a good time to use one.

Dear all, I am building an application whcihc requires different set of parametes in order to work and get configured correctly. Those configuration parameters can be global to all modules of that application or can be module dependant. A kind of configuration could be a list of authorised user that can access to different part of the application, which mean that is is like a kind of indivudual user

Greetings. I use Configuration Application Block of Enterprise Library to store some user application settings like window size, position, etc.. After reading some articles regarding confuguration data I'm a bit confused. Where is the right place for storing configuration data? - XML-files? - registry? - INI-files? (from a users point of view, ini-files are more comfortable to read and edit) Where should I store user specific config data? Where should I store machine specific config data?

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
