Server Application Unavailable [have to reinstall ASP.NET after each reboot]

I have a strange situation whereby I must un-install and re-install ASP.NET
every time I reboot the server.

When the server is rebooted and I try to access a web application it reads:
"Server Application Unavailable"

If I then go to control-panel and uninstall .NET Framework and then
reinstall .NET Framework, it works again, but only until the next reboot.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Windows 2000 Server
SQLserver 2000 Sp3a

Few things that you can do. This could be a permission issue.

1. Download the RegMon and FileMon utility from
http://www.sysinternals.com
2. Clean the EventLog if required. Else make a note as to where you are
starting
3 Reboot your machine
4. Run RegMon & FileMon
5. Then try to navigate to the page and see if you are receiving any
permission denined errors. If so post them here
6. Check the regisry and post any extra information that you might have
here
7. Same thing with the filemon
8. If it still does not work then make a clean start with these files
and the Event Log( Meaning clear them)
9. Start the IISAdmin Service Manually or you could also use IISReset.
See if there are any permission issues.

Did you install .NET Framework using a local Admin account or something
else.

Just to let you know that you would have to look at places that you

All, I have been told this is an ASP.NET issue and not an IIS issue, so I am posting this here. I have a problem with ASP.NET returning an HTTP 500 error when trying to run ASPX pages on Windows Server 2003 Enterprise Edition Only. This works on Windows 2000, Windows 2003 Web Edition and

I have used Visual Studio for about 8 months. I have developed some ASP solutions. I had to get on with some other things and have not worked with ASP.NET for a couple months. In the meantime, I have upgraded to .NET Framework 200 V1.1. Over the week end I had to go back to work on a project that needed some changes. I get the following error when I try to open an existing project or create a new one. I have XP Professional An error...

Hello, I've seen bits and pieces of this problem, on the newsgroups, but I haven't been able to get it exactly how it happened to me... I've been using Visual Studio and learning ASP.NET with no problems. IIS is working and everything was just fine. Then my company did some Microsoft updates (I wish I knew exactly which ones) on my machine and now when I try to open any of the pages I built, I

I have been working with ASP.NET 1.1 for quite a while now. For some reason, opening some ASP.NET applications we wrote is producing the following error message: "The Web server reported the following error when attempting to create or open the Web project located at the following URL: 'http://localhost/WebApplication1'. 'HTTP/1.1 500 Internal Server Error'."

I am consistently seeing the Server Application Unavailable message on XP Pro, Server 2000, and Server 2003. Complete uninstall of the .NET framework 1.1 from add/remove programs and reinstall of the .net Framework 1.1 will render my applications usable again, but after reboot, all ASP.NET apps fail. Event log shows the generic aspnet_wp.exe could not be started error. The suggested fixes by Microsoft e.g. "aspnet_regiis.exe -i " and...

I am having this ridiculously frustrating problem, migrating an existing web app to VS.2005. Initially I was able to successfully convert my VS 2002 app, by opening the Localhost site using the new 'Local IIS' option (File -> Add Existing Web Site ->. Local IIS -> Select the Localhost site) and everything was OK. However, when I shut down and reboot, I was unable to open the same project and got the following error: "Unable to open...

Hi All! I have a ASP.NET 2.0 site that works on the Windows 2000 Server. However, when I tried to view this site on my local Windows XP machine, I get "Server Unavailable". If I switch the Windows XP IIS back to ASP.NET 1.1 then I get the Configuration Error (which is understandable because I'm trying to run an ASP.NET 2 site with 1.1 framework). I can however view other ASP.NET 1.1 sites on my local Windows XP machine. It's only the...

Recently I ran all my Windows Updates which included many for Visual Studio 2005, & now when I open VS05 (using ASP.NET, VB.NET), all my toolbox options are grayed out except for the Data options; which include: DataSet, DataGridView, BindingSource, etc. This means that Label, Textbox, button, etc are all unavailable. My "General" option in Toolbox states "There are no useable controls in this group." I can run apps ok, & if I copy a...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
