Hi,
I have to read files generated by 3rd party application, these files are in
a propriotary format ( not generated using the .NET framework ), I want to
implement a custom DeSerializer to read the data in the file, I wonder is it
possible to read files in this manner ( e.g. custom implementation of the
ISerializable interface )? is this right way to extract data from the file?
OR should I rather 'manually' use the FileStream to read...

I've converted a non-trivial C++ library to managed, and get the following
unhelpful linker error:
Assignment.obj : error LNK2022: metadata operation failed (80131195) : Custom
attributes are not consistent: (0x0c0001a5).
Display.obj : error LNK2022: metadata operation failed (80131195) : Custom

The help for LNK2022 is completely useless:

I have a Custom Control which inherits from GridView.
I call it GridViewSort and it is in a namespace "PDS.WebControls".
I add it to the Toolbox, drop it on my WebForm and it shows up and
works fine. But when I define a skinID for this Custom Control, I am
getting an error when it compiles.
I tried adding the Register directive in the skin file but that doesnot
help.

I have a deployment project that I'm setting up. I need to perform a
different custom action based on whether this is a first time install or an
update. Does anyone have any idea if it's possible to set the Condition
property of a custom action to determine if the currently running install is
upgrading a previous installation and if so how? I'm also open to other

I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
