Writing a custom section handler for browserCaps

Hi
I am looking to write a custom section handler so that I can populate the MobileCapabilit ies object from my our custom data rather than the browserCaps section in machine.config.
From my understanding (limited) it looks like you can implement the IConfigurationS ectionHandler and use the IConfigurationS ectionHandler.C reate to intercept this functionality.
It looks like I need to return a MobileCapabilit ies object from this function. How do I create and return this object? All the properties of MobileCapabilit ies are read only and I can't seem to find any documentation about doing such a thing.

Ideally I would like to take a look at the source code for System.Web.Mobi le.MobileDevice CapabilitiesSec tionHandler. This would help me out no end but this is not present in the source code provided by Rotor (SSCLI).

Any help on overriding mobilecapabilit ies without having to edit the machine.config would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers

Is there any way at all for you to populate MobileCapabilit ies from
something other than the normal browserCaps section?

I am trying to create a custom section and section handler in my config file. The custom section should be something like; <appSecurity> <method name = "Protect the Ice Cream"> <allow group = "admin"/> <allow group = "ice cream eaters"/> <deny group= "weightwatchers"/> <deny user = "hazz"/>

Hello, I have implemented a custom config section handler by implementing the IConfigurationSectionHandler interface. I have registered this handler in web.config and everything works fine ... for a while. At random points in time my section handler stops working and throws the exception: Configuration Error Description: An error occurred during the processing of a configuration

Hi I currently have a large database of capabilities for mobile devices. I would like the MobileCapabilities object to be populated from this database rather than from <browserCaps> section in machine.config (as this would require a massive update) It looks like it is possible to use a custom section handler by implementing the IConfigurationSectionHandler interface. This interface has a "create" method than passes back the populated

Hi, I like to develop custom controls for a number of webpages. These controls are often customizable, so that they can be reused in a number of situations. My question is: What is the best practice for configuring a custom control. As far as I can say, I have the following alternatives: - Defining properties for the control, and setting these in the ASPX

Hi I've written custom configuration section (inherits from System.Configuration.ConfigurationSection) to simplify the contents of the config file and to make life easier when accessing them in code. The configuration section is contained within the exe (it's a simple test case!) and everything works well debugging within the IDE or if the application is deployed on a drive or share that has been granted full trust. For the share the...

These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers.
