A *lot* of our teams code is being deleted from the
InitializeComponent() section of a winform, such as Grid settings,
event handler hooks, layout settings etc. This mainly seems to
happen to 3rd party controls such as Infragistics grids and menu bars
and toolbars, but it also happens on native .net tools.
I know you're thinking that I modified that procedure, but that's not
the case, the designer generates it wholly, i don't even move...

I had a data adapter disappear from my vs.net designer. It was still
defined in the generated code but no longer instantiated. I am trying to
rebuild it but parts of it are still in the code. Is there anyway to sync
the generated code with the designer?
Thanks,
G

My problem is with a XML file that resides on my windows 2003 web server.
I have this user control which I include on every page in my applicaiton.
The control makes it possible for the users to leave feedback when using the page.
The feedback is written to a XML file which I have put in a folder "C:/Save/".
I've set the access rights on this folder so that the "IUSR_MachineName" has full rights on this folder and it's children.
The...

I am creating a windows app and I use the data adapter wizard to generate a SQL query. Once the data adapter is created, I generate a dataset from it and my dataset appears in the designer. Then I create another data adapter from the wizard and when that is complete I try to generate the existing dataset from the new data adapter. My dataset disappears from the desinger. If a generate my dataset from data adapter 1 again then a new instance...

Good afternoon
I've developed some controls that holds specialized collections of items (a
collection of ImageItems for a ImageComboBox, a collection of MenuItems for
a Toolbar, etc.). The controls and the embedded collections interacts each
other correctly and everything work fine.
But I've a problem that I'm not able to solve: when the control
(ImageComboBox, for example) is placed on a form, and it is copied (Ctrl-C)
and then pasted...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
