Hi all,
I've a DataList control and it's DataBound by a SqlDataReader...
The Reader returns say 3 records and as expected the datalist shows 3 rows.
What i want to do is to add another extra Record (which is not neccesarily a
database record..) but it'll be shown up as an ordinary item in the datalist
rendered as an Item or AlternatingItem ...
Is there a way to do this?
Thanks

I am creating a server control that adds web controls (i.e. textboxes, etc) to a form. I use HtmlTable to build the table and insert the controls. Now I want to add validators to the textbox. Here is the code that I am using
bool lastnamerequired=false
public bool LastNameRequire
get{return lastnamerequired;
set{lastnamerequired = value;
if(lastnamerequired

Hi all and thanks in advance,
I am stuck! I can't figure out how to identify which button was clicked on my ASP.NET page in the PostBack event? So what I am trying to do is to is to have an if statement like as follows in the PageLoad:
private void Page_Load(object sender, System.EventArgs e) {
if (!Page.IsPostBack) {
//do something here
} else {

Hi All,
I m facing a problem. As u know asp.net vallidators did not work in non-microsoft browsers.
So for that i m using Server Side Solution. But i don't understand how can i show the validation summery with all messeges as they show on client side in IE.
Means that when we submit the form to server in IE, then page is validated on the client side and if there is some error these are shown in the Validation Summery as a list.
This thing...

Howdy all - and seasons greetings
Just wondering, I've recently discovered the PreRender event for .NET (both
for the page and for controls), which seems like a life saver for doing page
data loads that need to occur AFTER event handlers have fired, as well as
after page load and postback. Is this good, bad or common practice?
example
I've got a repeater on the page, and in the header of the repeater I've got

Hi,
I dynamicly add custom control in SelectedIndexChanged even of GridView which is firing after Page_Load. My control is not being rendered to page becouse of that (I assume). How to avoid this situation? Sample below
protected void dgrCompanies_SelectedIndexChanged(object sender, EventArgs e)
{
GoogleControl MyGoogleControl = new GoogleControl ();
PlaceHolderForMap.Controls.Add(MyGoogleControl);
}

I have a form where I create dynamic controls at runtime. With this, I am
adding a dynamic required field validator to each control as needed, but the
validators are not firing when I click submit. The submit button was placed
at design time and its causesvalidation property is set to true. Can someone
tell me if something is missing from my code? Thank you.
1. Code to add dynamic control works fine and I get the Id of the textbox...

Hello All,
I'd like your comments on the code below. The sub does exactly what I want it to do but I don't feel that it is solid as all. It seems like I'm
using some VB6 code, .Net2003 code, and .Net2005 code. I'm developing in vb.net 2005.
This test sub just reads an input text file, writing out records to another text file, eliminating records that have a '99' in them (it is similar to
a CSV file).
Some of my concerns are:

I'm interested in programmatically manipulating groups of ASP.NET controls
by type. Can someone suggest code for the following?
Loop through, say, all label controls on a page, and assigning a CssClass to
them, or programmatically making the Visible/not Visible.
If applied to a containing page, such a function would traverse all user
controls statically and dynamically placed on the page, correct?
Thanks,

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

The next Access Europe User Group meeting will be on Wednesday 1 May 2024 starting at 18:00 UK time (6PM UTC+1) and finishing by 19:30 (7.30PM).
In this session, we are pleased to welcome a new presenter, Adolph Dupré who will be discussing some powerful techniques for using class modules.
He will explain when you may want to use classes instead of User Defined Types (UDT). For example, to manage the data in unbound forms.
Adolph will...
