Hi all,
I've a DataList control and it's DataBound by a SqlDataReader...
The Reader returns say 3 records and as expected the datalist shows 3 rows.
What i want to do is to add another extra Record (which is not neccesarily a
database record..) but it'll be shown up as an ordinary item in the datalist
rendered as an Item or AlternatingItem ...
Is there a way to do this?
Thanks

Can anyone show me how to add validators (programatically) at the PreRender stage in C#
I built a server control that builds a table with WebControls. The WebControls are added programmatically and I'd like to be able to add validator controls as well. The problem is that in order to get the validators to work, they must be added at the PreRender stage.
Any help would be appreciated

I'm a little confused about in what Event should I add dynamic controls and
in what Event should I retrieve the value of a dynamic control on postback.
I've found that adding dynamic controls in the Page Load event works, and I
realize that I need to add the dynamic controls again on each postback. But
if I'm trying to retrieve the value of a dynamic control (Text property of a
TextBox for instance), should I retrieve the value in the...

Howdy all - and seasons greetings
Just wondering, I've recently discovered the PreRender event for .NET (both
for the page and for controls), which seems like a life saver for doing page
data loads that need to occur AFTER event handlers have fired, as well as
after page load and postback. Is this good, bad or common practice?
example
I've got a repeater on the page, and in the header of the repeater I've got

Hi,
I dynamicly add custom control in SelectedIndexChanged even of GridView which is firing after Page_Load. My control is not being rendered to page becouse of that (I assume). How to avoid this situation? Sample below

{
GoogleControl MyGoogleControl = new GoogleControl ();
PlaceHolderForMap.Controls.Add(MyGoogleControl);

Hi All:
I have this page where a rows / cells are programmatically added to to table
by pushing a button.
The rows contain a textbox and a associated button. What I want to is to be
able to add the content of any textbox to a global variable (and a related
session variable) when pushing the associate button.
However whenever I push the button(s) apparently the session variable is not

I'm interested in programmatically manipulating groups of ASP.NET controls
by type. Can someone suggest code for the following?
Loop through, say, all label controls on a page, and assigning a CssClass to
them, or programmatically making the Visible/not Visible.
If applied to a containing page, such a function would traverse all user
controls statically and dynamically placed on the page, correct?
Thanks,

Hello.
I have a gridview column item that i want to not make visible if the
bound data in that cell is less than a value in a textbox.
However, I notice at the time my code checks a function that I call
from the visible property of the gridview itemtemplate, the textbox is
always blank.
I tried setting the textbox in the prerender, but I suspect the

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
