Deploy error on Remote Server

Hi,

I am getting message shown below when I tested a simple web application on
production Remote Server which has ASP.net
enabled for IIS.

Please advise!

I have tried the resolution provided and even used trace enabled but message
still comes while
the application runs fine on local computer.

Imran Saroia

Server Error in '/' Application.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
----

Runtime Error
Description: An application error occurred on the server. The current custom
error settings for this application prevent the details of the application
error from being viewed remotely (for security reasons). It could, however,
be viewed by browsers running on the local server machine.

Details: To enable the details of this specific error message to be viewable
on remote machines, please create a <customErrors > tag within a "web.config "
configuration file located in the root directory of the current web
application. This <customErrors > tag should then have its "mode" attribute
set to "Off".
<!-- Web.Config Configuration File -->

<configuratio n>
<system.web>
<customErrors mode="Off"/>
</system.web>
</configuration>
Notes: The current error page you are seeing can be replaced by a custom
error page by modifying the "defaultRedirec t" attribute of the application's
<customErrors > configuration tag to point to a custom error page URL.
<!-- Web.Config Configuration File -->

<configuratio n>
<system.web>
<customErrors mode="RemoteOnl y" defaultRedirect ="mycustompage. htm"/>
</system.web>
</configuration>

Change you web.config file to contain

<!-- Web.Config Configuration File -->

<configuratio n>
<system.web>
<customErrors mode="Off"/>
</system.web>
</configuration>

Instead of:
<!-- Web.Config Configuration File -->

<configuratio n>
<system.web>
<customErrors mode="RemoteOnl y"/>
</system.web>
</configuration>

This should give you a more detailed error message. Let me know what that
message is.

Hi all, I'm attempting to deploy a pretty simple web service to a shared web server that was built w/ Visual Studio. According to MSDN, I should be able to just copy the asmx and bin folder (w/ contents) and it's ready to go. Of course, in practice this fails. When attempting to add access it with a client, I get the error that follows. I found that by manipulating web.config entries as indicated in the errors it seemed to get...

I built an ASP application and it runs fine on my local IIS. I am trying to move the application to my web service (ISP) out on the internet. I've read several of the help articles but they all seem to think I am deploying to localhosts. I created a new directory on my web page and copied most of the files from the wwwroot subdirectory where my project exists. When I try to open the page (by pointing to "WebForm1.aspx in the new...

Hello all, I hope I am posting to the right forum. I have made my very first ASP.NET web app and am trying to deploy my baby to a remote server. From the IDE, I have chosen the 'Copy project...' option and have copied the files needed to run the application to another folder on my machine via the FrontPage web access...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
