Simple javascript for netscape 4x

I need to get some simple scirpt to run in netscape 4x. I tested it in 4.73
and mozilla 1.0 which should be nescape 5.0. My problem is how do I
reference a textbox and set its value.

function testclick() does run as I can see the msgbox, but it fails to set a
value into the texbox. Any good ideas?

Here's a simple test page:
<HTML>
<HEAD>
<SCRIPT LANGUAGE="javas cript">

function window_onload()
{
window.setInter val("updateTime ()",1000);
}
function updateTime()
{
var nowTime = new Date();
document.Form1. Text1.value=now Time.getSeconds () ;
}

function testclick()
{
alert("xx")
document.Form1. Text2.value="xx xx";

}
</SCRIPT>
</HEAD>
<BODY LANGUAGE="JavaS cript" onload="return window_onload() ">
<FORM NAME="form1" ID="Form1">
<P><br>
<INPUT id="Button1" type="button" value="Button" name="Button1"
onclick="testcl ick()"><br>
<INPUT id="Text1" type="text" name="Text1"><b r>

<INPUT id="Text2" type="text" name="Text2">
</P>
</FORM>
</BODY>
</HTML>

Hi Moondaddy,

I think you can have a try on Jason's suggestion. Also here is a weblink to
the javascript reference on different versions:

#JavaScript for language learning

Hope also helps. Thanks.

Note this is crossposted to comp.lang.javacript and microsoft.public.dotnet.scripting. After some Googling and FAQing my understanding of these terms is, crudely: Javascript (3 different definitions): 1. The scripting language originally developed by Netscape. (I offer a Brief handle: "Original Netscape Script") 2. The current implementation of the ECMAscript 262 (3rd ed.) standard by Netscape. (I offer a brief handle: "Current...

(ie student number 5 enters "5" and gets a message like "Congratulations on your homerun in Kickball Bobby!" Can this be done using a form and if so would that be the best way to do it? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
