ASP.Net outside wwwroot folder?

Hi

I am trying to create an asp.net application (using Visual Studio.net 2002 on an xpPro machine). However, I need the application to be created in a folder somewhere other than in wwwroot (this is very important as some sometimes we have to install our software in specific places
Is there any way to set VS to do this automatically?
I have been trying for hours now to do this. I have created a virtual directory in IIS and pointed it to a folder on my c:drive, created the VS Developers user group in that folder (and the folder has the right share etc - created by IIS) But when I try and ask VS to create an application within that folder it displays the 'Web access failed' Dialog box - Error 'UNC share does not exist or I do not have permission.
Am I trying to do something that is impossible, or am I just being dense

Any help or advice with this is welcomed with open arms!

I may be wrong, but I think you have to install the frontpage extensions on
that virtual directory.
Right clicking in IIS should give you that option

I've been brought onto a new project and there's a file that lays out the preferred method of obtaining the source code. This file starts as follows: "Do not get the source for the web project throught SourceSafe explorer or Visual Studio will attempt to open the web project from wwwroot, not your work directory." If I understand this correctly (by no means a certainty) it's saying

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it. First, let's disable language synchronization. Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
