I've got a simple windows form with some bound textboxes
and Save button. Each texbox is bound to column in a table
in an Access database. The form fills fine - all the
fields show the correct data for the record I load. So
then I change the contents of one of the textboxes and
click on the Save button. The button's event handler then
calls the data adapter's Update method and I check the
return value. Nada-zilch-nothing. I even put a...

I have a datagrid with a template column that has a hyperlink and a label.
The hyperlink text is bound to Title from my dataset and the label text is
bound to Author in the dataset. The grid displays with the template columns
showing the Title and the Author from the first row in all rows. The other
none template columns are fine. Obviously I am not understanding something
here. What am I missing?????

I have a dataset bound datagrid. I added my own columns
(autogenerate=false).
However I can't figure out how to display a hyperlink string coming from the
DB as a functioning hyperlink.
What can I enter into the column "data formatting expression" to make the
one column act as a column with hyperlinks.

Hi all,
I need to format screen output for a textbox that's bound
to a datasource. I know how to format the data in a
plain old string, but in this case I'm not sure where
to "sneak" in there to do the formatting.
For example, textbox txtAcctBalance is bound to a
currency field in my dataset, and when the value shows up
on the screen I want it formatted as currency ("C").

I have an Excel sheet where I setup my needed formatting, page settings,
ect, and would like to take my data from a datagrid and paste it into the
excel file and print the excel file.
Any idea how to do this ?
But. my other problem is my excel sheet if setup for two columns of
formatting, and I would like to paste the data into column 1 until it gets
to cell 30, then if there is more than 30 records, paste them into the
second column...

Hi all,
I have populated a dataset with several tables, say - Roster, Agent and few
more . The dataset is used to populated a listview with some shift info..
I think I'm sucessfully created a relationship in the dataset. In the
Roster table there's an "AgentKey" which can be linked to the Agent table.
What I'm tryting to do is, while I'm looping thru the dataset, I want to
show the Name of an Agent in the listview from the Agent...

Hello.
I could not find a Web discussion group (only saw Web Services) so am
posting my question here. I have a C# Web application that has a form with a
datagrid. One of the columns of the data grid is filled with a column from a
table that is varChar(500). I only want to display the first 50 character of
that column. I want to be able to use the "Data Formatting Expression" in the
datagrid columns property page.
I could only find...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

The next Access Europe User Group meeting will be on Wednesday 1 May 2024 starting at 18:00 UK time (6PM UTC+1) and finishing by 19:30 (7.30PM).
In this session, we are pleased to welcome a new presenter, Adolph Dupré who will be discussing some powerful techniques for using class modules.
He will explain when you may want to use classes instead of User Defined Types (UDT). For example, to manage the data in unbound forms.
Adolph will...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
