Form within a MasterPage on Whidbey

I want to have a form in the master page (for things like "search site"
function). In addition, I'll have to have forms in the regular pages
that "plug in" to the master page.

Is this possible? If so, are there any quirks that I should know about?

Thanks

Hi Frank,

Since Whidbey is still in pre-beta, this isn't the best place to look.
You'll probably more help here:

My login.aspx page uses a MasterPage and is implemented as a Content page. However, I keep getting the error "A page can have only one server-side Form tag." when I run it. Yet there is not FORM tag in my Content page. One thing to note is that my login.aspx page was originally created in VS.NET 2003 and I'm now running it on VS.NET 2005 Beta, it was converted. All my other pages using the MasterPage work fine. I have a typical login page...

Hi all, I have a WYSIWYG editor which allows people to insert a form into a page. This information is stored in a database and at run-time is displayed inside a content placeholder (I'm using MasterPages). The problem I am having is that because .NET places a form tag wth runat=server my nested HTML tag posts back to the .NET form instead of the HTML page declared in the action tag of the HTML form.

I have a MasterPage. The MasterPage actually contains the <formtag which is used throughout the site. On just certain pages that use that MasterPage, I need the "enctype" for the <formtag to be set to: enctype="multipart/form-data" On the rest of the pages, I do not need this. How can my specific ASPX page that uses the MasterPage change the

I have css that would normally be placed in style tags in the header of the Master page that I want to add programmatically for a specific Web Content Form (the *.aspx page). How do I do this for a Web Content Form? I cannot use style tags in a Web Content Form, and I am having trouble figuring out how to add all the desired css properties to a System.Web.UI.WebControls.Style object. Can anyone help me? I'm a little confused about something. I have a "Contact Us" page that I'm developing that runs within a content page under a master page. I was plagiarizing fairly liberally from some other pages that I had seen that worked, so I ended up with a <formelement containing a number of text boxes, and a submit button. In the codebehind for the button click event, where I went to

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
