Cookies and Current Context

I am developing an Class Library, that is intended to have some classes and methods for Web Interfaces
This way, I wrote my authentication system in this DLL. It would write the security ticket in a cookie on the client..
I have used this construction

HttpContext.Cur rent.Response.C ookies.Add(New HttpCookie(Form sAuthentication .CookieName, encTicket)

Where encTicket is my encrypted authentication Ticket

Then, I wrote a method wich a call from the AcquireState event of the Application, wich loads the Cookie, same way

HttpContext.Cur rent.Request.Co okies.Get(Forms Authentication. CookieName

This don't works..
I debug the app, and I realized that the cookie is not being written on the client..
I would like to know if there is any implication in using the HttpContext.Res ponse and Request calls, to write and retrieve cookies from the client, using it from an DLL class library..

Thanks

I've spent half a day on this with no success, so I'm hoping someone can point out what I'm doing wrong. I have an ASP.NET Server-side component that I've created, and as part of its Render function, it requests another webpage (which the user defines) through an HttpWebRequest object. This page that is being called requires the cookie objects that are sent to the page hosting the control. So, as shown in the code below, I'm looping...

I am implementing a secure website using the ASP.NET FormsAuthentication model. I have taken the simplest code examples from MSDN (login.aspx,default.aspx, web.config) but cannot get proper behavior on my machine. As an unauthenticated user, I navigate to the website http://localhost/XXX. global.Authenticate_Request considers sending default.apsx but cannot find any authentication cookie in the Context object, so the request is...

I recently found out that my authentication cookies are not expiring even though I have set the persist property to false. As a result, users are able to access the secure websites with indifferent results. Any pointers/suggestions would be very appreciated. Things were running as usual till until recently. Here are the relevant pieces of code ==========================================

I'm having trouble with using cookies to monitor the stages of login. I have a two stage Registration page ( register.aspx ) and my target page ( MyPage.aspx ) I'm using a cookie named LoginStatus to tract the stage of the login process. LoginStatus = "1" denotes that the first part of the login process has been performed. LoginStatus = "2" denotes that the login process has been completed.

In ASP.NET 1.1 I could detected expired form authentication tickets (which closely coincide with my expired session) by checking for the Authentication Cookie when the login screen loads. If the cookie exists, then decrypt the forms auth. ticket and check to see if it is expired. If so display a message to the user letting them know why they are back on the login screen. The code I used was something like this: Dim cookie as HttpCookie...

Hi everyone. My web application wants to take advantage of an encrypted authentication cookie that's provided by another application on the same server. The cookie is visible on the client side, but when I invoke a method on my web service no cookies are visible. For example, here is the relevant code in an example Javascript client:

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it. First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
